Best idea they’ve had yet. Hold the parents accountable. Maybe the parents will start holding their children accountable, take interest in their life and disciplining them when appropriate.

Send the kid to Juvi when the parent is in jail. They both will learn a lesson from their poor decisions.

I really hope that these laws really make a change with these juveniles because they’re totally out of control. They think they can do what they want and it’s not consequences behind their actions.

This is years late. These parents are paid by taxpayers to raise their children so they should be held accountable. If they didn’t want the responsibility don’t have children. This includes the sperm donors. If I have a dog and it bites someone I am responsible, why shouldn’t paid parents? Not to mention how much money spent on their education that they are receiving because they don’t go to school. In Baltimore they just change the grades.

DJS should have no role in the charging and prosecution of suspects. That should be up to the police and the state’s attorney. DJS’s only role should be to offer services once they’re in the system, and to run the juvenile detention facilities.

Can't hold the parents accountable. Won't hold the kids accountable. The State decided the victim is the only one who has to suffer the consequences of crime.

You make sure you hold the right parents responsible because some parents do not want their children to come back home but DJs keep letting them go back home and you still should hold the dumb juveniles accountable also don't let them off the hook

No this will not change anything. This would work in a traditional nuclear family model, but the community has been so eroded that these kids are being raised by God knows who, absentee fathers, mothers, grandmothers, etc. were talking about children and parents alike who have nothing to live for or lose. sadly the only way to curtail this will be some real consequence that the kids will feel. Aka incarceration

If there's a will there's a way. How about child endangerment when your child's out there doing crimes you should be held responsible.

Soon as you tried to get help for your ill-mannered juvenile dummy the system don't want to help you so don't blame all the parents so get that right you need to put the blame on those damn juveniles and put them in jail.

You just had a 12 yr old, two weeks ago I believe who was charged with what would be his 6th robbery!! At 12! And you don't think his parents should face some type of consequence for this?? It doesn't have to be jail time. It can be monetary, community service, mandatory counseling, something!!
