I think maybe the most exciting part of this game for me comes inherent to its complexity-- since there's so much that needs much more thorough planning than in CS1, it seems like you will just have to naturally build and expand your cities at a slower rate which means you're going to be more intimately familiar with your cities and put much more care into them. Slower growth = better cities.
@okankyoto Жыл бұрын
It also helps that the answers to gameplay questions now much more closely resemble real-life solutions, so learning the new systems also teaches a little about the real thing. Less of the "well this is how it works IRL, but how does the game want to do it?" that pops up in the current game.

Really looking forward to find out which services we are going to see. From what I noticed before it's surely: - general firefighting service - fire helicopters - general police service - police helicopters - general medical service with ambulances - medical helicopters - CIB (City Bureau of Investigation, basically the FBI but in C:S ;) ) - Garbage service with regular garbage trucks - General transportation services (bus/train/subway/tram/taxi/plane/ship) - Schools from elementary to university - Graveyards with hearses - Road maintenance - Mail service Speculation: - CIB vehicles and helicopters (maybe for riot controlling or something) - School busses (no evidence here as none spotted) - Recycling centers - VIP transport (helicopters/limousine service?) - HAZMAT trucks (no evidence but could be an update to existing fire stations) - Pest control (as there is the rat infestation) with vehicles - Elderly homes/elderly care (expanded from C:S1s DLC) - Kindergartens (due to more detailed lifespan) - Evacuation services and shelters (because natural disasters are a thing and mechanics for traffic accidents are already detailed) - Social housing (as homeless people are confirmed) - Rail maintenance - Building maintenance - Park service (like in C:S1s DLC) - Tours
@samandcolbyclip Жыл бұрын
The things I want to see are security services other than police like security cameras and guards etc and also a feature which will tell us which area needs which kind of service more for eg a park might need more garbage service than police service as to keep the park clean so the feature would allow us to understand which service an area needs more so that we can manually set the services to provide their services to these areas more than others ( this can work like everyday garbage service will go and check on the park and once a week in a specific neighborhood)and ik this is a long shot but would love to see traffic police and traffic cameras that detect red light breaks probably won't happen but would love to see this in a future update😊

It's impressive all the care the company is taking to be as clear as possible to everyone. I guess it's something i never seen before. Most of the companies relies on on the mistery side, the darkness of what the game is about and etc. You took the opossite path and it's working very good i guess. I'm reading the Dev's diary and there i can clearly see how Sim City 4 served as an inspiration to improve this game. Having the opportunity to trade things with the outside connections, be able to call for emergency backup from another cities is awesome. In S.C4 you only can import or export waste, water or energy, which is already a great beginning. But that's the point here. I really hope you let us construct water pipes separately, cause there's no point to be mandatory to grow the city to its limits so i can trade with outside connections, you know. Because, letting me choose to use outside connections services at the beginning for example, could let me start the game in a very different way. I also might have a problem in the middle of the gameplay and a outside connection could be a life saver depending on what i have in mind. Anyway, thanks.

One thing they could add to education service is varsity, which are sports facilities tied to high schools and universities. The sports include aquatics, basketball, baseball, track & field, soccer (internationally known as association football), and American rules football. Australian rules football could also be added as well. Another service is to add is performing arts centers, which are most likely unique buildings. Specialized healthcare facilities would include gyms, community pools, saunas, and yoga facilities (indoor and outdoor versions). Two unique service buildings are radio station and television station (which were seen in SimCity 4). Cities Skylines 1 has Campus DLC, which enables custom universities. The university size represents curriculum size. There can be a university building specialized to teach any specific job field, including training for a specific city service.

- That cemetery (0:39) looked gorgeous! Seems like the drawing tool (like the one for farms and landfills) was used here too! Love it! - TELECOMMUNICATION!?!??!! (1:36) Love to see it! Some people could live longer without running water then without internet. Can't wait to see how it works! - Something I really missed (2:05) from SimCity. Service buildings having just a little bit of depth. The impact seems a lot higher. Espescially with there being a difference in high and low voltage (1:52) - Electricity and water/sewage trade is GREAT to see! (2:24) - Just about any Service building had so much impact on the specific area. They are huge! That's so fantastic to see! Look at the area the waste processing is taking up! (2:41) - Service buildings have employees! Thats something that could "annoy" you in SimCity! If you had a shortage of workers it wasnt just affecting business and Industry in your Cities but your own buildings too. Great to see!!! Curious to see if those buildings need differently educated people too. - Education building efficiency?!?! (2:59) This looks so good! - Education & Research generating a surplus? (3:13) - Different univerties /university specialisations :O (3:18)

That system of expanding city service buildings remind me so much of SimCity 2013...thanks for adding that feature!

Being able to draw out the landfill area is something i never knew i wanted
@Eric_In_SF Жыл бұрын
Yeah, people should be able to do this with property lines and lots as well so you can create it and suburban neighborhoods. Instead, we just get houses on grids with big ugly gaps between them.

Internet in a city simulator? Wow Paradox did not hold back for the realism of this game and I can’t wait!

Do I recognise this voice over person from somewhere or are the dev videos just that memorable?

Speaking of Police & Administration service, there can also be extradition airplanes, when criminals flee far from the city. The original game has a DLC service facility called Central Intelligence Agency. One combo service between Police & Administration and Deathcare is morgues, for people dead of suspicious causes.

Upgrading facilities was my favorite feature in simcity, it's great that you are adding them.

1:27 hah YES. Totally called it on the new Communications services, thank you! Hopefully they have a practical and active impact on all aspects of the city eg emergencies, education, commerce, industry, and are not just there for happiness.

there's finally an air pollution indication. been missing that in CS 1 (at least in vanilla). and not only that, you also added sources of air pollution. looks good!

the ending reminds me that more transparency about income and expenses would be a really important thing to have in CS2. We can't be hand-held either, but we all know the pain we have sometimes of trying to figure out (or just give up) understanding why our public transport, Industries, etc. aren't profitable.
