Wonderful presentation! The state capital really is a magnificent building. The tallest building…not so much. I think in the future you will really enjoy making the Pittsburgh segment. My friend lives there and raves about the place all the time. Keep up the great videos! 😎⭐️🥇🌠

I love Harrisburg. There's so much to see in that area. By the way, the Amish country of Lancaster and the historical Gettysburg is not too far away. The same can be said for State College if you are a Penn State fan and the Knoebels is not too far of a drive.

Harrisburg was the surprising highpoint of my trip I just got back from. I never thought the city would be large, in fact on Google Earth I found what appeared to be a very SMALL city crammed up against a river and, I presumed, mountains. I was shocked when from the highways appeared towers and a sort of 'big city vibe' in a medium-sized city. The capitol there is my favorite among all 9 I have visited but 6 I have actually been inside, Kentucky being a very strong #2 and former #1 (both states have capitols constructed in the early 1900s, maybe I just like this style). The capitol actually seems to be about as large as the US Capitol itself (which I worked in).
@mayavenuemisfit814 Жыл бұрын
Harrisburg probably appeared to be a "small city", because it IS indeed a small city. Dauphin County (where Hbg. is located), plus Perry and Cumberland counties combine for a population of about a half-million. However, the population of Harrisburg proper is only about 50,000. However, the daytime population of the city roughly triples in size, mostly due to commuters coming in to work at the many state office buildings, as well as all of the private sector and medical businesses in and around downtown Harrisburg.

The PA State Capitol building was chosen for the filming of parts of Eddie Murphy’s 1992 movie The Distinguished Gentleman because of its resemblance to the US Capitol.

Actually, the Harrisburg Metro area is much larger, over 1.2 million people. And if you used the same method in calculating metro areas as say Greenville SC which includes 8 counties in the upstate of SC, some cities over 100 miles apart, Harrisburg's metro area would have almost 2 million people, that would include Lancaster, Dauphin, York, Cumberland, Lebanon and Perry counties in South Central Pennsylvania.
@zyxwut321 Жыл бұрын
The thing about that is how many of those people living in those places commute to work in Harrisburg or have a lot to do there? For example, Lancaster is more of an outer suburb of Philly than part of the Harrisburg metro area.

Harrisburg is a dump. What is this guy smokin? Former Mayor Reed embezzled the city into a financial crisis and it never recovered since. Harrisburg is a mini detroit now. I grew up in Lebanon county just 30 or so min east and used to go to Harrisburg for work. The city just has this sad, depressed, almost defeated vibe to it. It's trying hard to make itself look livable but it just isn't. It has the potential to be a great place but there's just no money both public or private investment and a culture that lacks any innovation or vision. There's a pedestrian bridge that once connected city island to the west shore many years ago. It was destroyed in 1996 due to a blizzard.... It was never repaired since. To this day it just sits there in disrepair. An embarrassing eyesore in the middle of the susquehanna.
