if the key only engages the hand screw, whats stopping that screw working itself unscrewed / unpinned after vibration of a few miles driving?

The key unlocks the wheel so you can turn the internal screw slot. The key doesn't go into the screwdriver slot inside the hitch.

Good idea, but would be nice if the ball was able to be switched easily. I’d spend all day turning that damned knob to go from 2” to 2 5/16”.

I don't think that will work on the 2.5 inch receiver on the new Ford trucks Paw Paw. The extendable pins will not have enough length to lock it to the truck. Otherwise guess it's OK. Take care my friend.

We had one on one of the work trucks that had a sleeve that took up the space to make it fit the regular hitches.
