I lived on Austin street in McAllen when the fire station was around the 70’s what a blessing to be part of that history. M friend and I would sit in the small garden they had across from the station and across the small garden was the train station. Great memories to share. The house next to fire station on Austin street has a huge German Shepard dog . On the way home one day the dog scared the Beegeeses out of me lol and a fireman ran out to help as soon as he heard my scream. I wish I could remember his name but I’m very thankful to him for holding on to me till I no longer was trembling and had stopped crying. Thank you for a great piece of history that I unexpectedly was also part of.
