Hey CCP, in the last part of vid, you placed that park maintenance building which is a good thing BUT, you should not give access to the inside area the way you placed a pedestrian street, this will let people sneak in through that building without paying for the area..!!

I really do hope that part of Phase 7 is going to be adding a passenger station, not only to serve the local residents, but also to support long-distance commuters to Johnson Aggregates(perhaps even with a shuttle bus to help facilitate that) and to serve the sports complex

Amen! Thé area needs more transit in general, cause right now those people would contribute a lot to traffic since they don’t really have any other option to get to work or into town

Going to see what we can do! The train line splitting the area is a freight line and the passenger line goes underground just before the area. That said, there isn't a reason why we couldn't explore some changes! Great suggestion!

There's 1 tiny change I think you should make. The phase 2 path into the aggregates company should be a pedestrian road. This will give quick acces to the emergency services instead of making them drive the long way around. In case of a fire or accidentent every second counts, so retractable ballards to let emergency vehicles through just makes sense
@thebigeasy20052 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if anyone has said this already, and if they have, well, great minds think alike! I think you should extend the road in front of the warehouse in Johnson Aggregates a little further, then put a gate for Johnson park. I’m sure Johnson would insist on that so employees can visit the park on their lunch breaks or whatnot. As always love the content Phil, Viva Verde Beach!

The mayor of a city that I lived at took a page from this playbook a step forward…he and his family owned the only provider of aggregates in the region(very remote area)…and, to the surprise of none, during his tenure as mayor, the city approved giant construction projects in the suburbs…we’re talking social housing, schools, public infrastructure…all with city funds…he made so much money from this that he assured the funds to keep electing himself, his family and friends as mayor and city consul….and, to top it of, as it is usual in many Brazilian cities, he named the new neighborhood after himself… high level stuff…

Hey Phil, i would like to adress some things from the last episode regarding the zoo. - water pipes [trigger warning] in the last episode you redrew the water pipes under the new residential development next to the zoo but not in the zoo itself... maybe you did that off-camera?! - open space & seating i kinda like the look of the weeds and tall grasses but i would love to see some more open areas with picknick tables to sit down, have a break (AND THROW A FIRSBEE :P ) as well as some food trucks. i also think some more benches alongside the paths would be a nice thing to have. for the new development - i would love to see some rock features or maybe a bouldering site inside the park or next to the school. that could be something which sets this part of the city apart from other areas. instead of playing basketball the kids who grow up there are maybe more into rock climbing, who knows. - for names, i would love to see more street, district & building names representing nature instead of people, especially as this was nature until now....

Neat! May I suggest upgrading the pedestrian path next to Johnson's Park into a pedestrian road. It'll provide a much needed crosswalk into what's effectively a super block on the arterial & gives emergency services another access point into the Ore Processing buildings. Also, a bike bridge to cross the highway/rail and connects to the bike highway. Excellent work like always, Phil.

fantastic episode Phil - once again the neighbourhood looks great especially with the tree lined roads!!! A name suggestion for phase 5 - would be River Park - River (because it is beside the major river) and Park (as the area will often be home to affluent and wealthy people due to the location - thus Park seems like a nice name for an affluent area - as well as there being a few parks in the area as well in order to increase the house prices and provide good amenities for the wealthy of the area - properly not on the hill due to there not being enough room but in the areas around it thus making it a fitting name) once again thanks for another great video and cannot wait for the next one!!! 👍👍👍

As someone who greatly enjoys city histories, you need to develop a low-income area that has a very working-class feel. I'm from Birmingham, Alabama. The city has a major area of working-class homes and businesses that were used to house and service workers who were employed by the (now defunct) steel mills. I'd enjoy seeing some low-quality, but sufficient housing near the industry areas. Good stuff as always CPP.
@LtexprsGaming2 жыл бұрын
Hey Phil, just wanted to let you know that you did an amazing job with this new development. 1 thing I did notice however is that you missed an upgrade to the arterial road going to Johnson Aggregates. You can see what I'm talking about at the start of the city tour 44:12 , there's a segment or 2 that is still a 2 lane road instead of the upgraded 4 lane road.
@nealjroberts40502 жыл бұрын
I do enjoy how well Verde Beach has come along despite being mostly vanilla! I think the early phases of the Johnson development might be named for prominent _members_ of the family: Richard, William, Peter, Rodger, etc. Then perhaps the stadium could be named after a major investor? Pecker Stadium has quite the ring to it (Prince Albert does too but wouldn't be considered for an American project). (😋 sometimes my punnage gets the better of me, sorry)

Would Johnson Aggregates review their Toll Road positioning into their production areas to improve road connectivity in the new development? Would the city have any say in these decisions, or make it a requirement in order to greenlight the new neighbourhoods? Would love the detailing of these phases to include more rocky assets to have synergy with Johnson Aggregates!
@CityPlannerPlays2 жыл бұрын
I think Johnson Aggregates could make a compelling argument to prevent the connectivity for safety concerns. I think it'd be more likely that they'd discuss what would happen after the mine is no longer productive and how it would be filled in and connections made at that point. Great point and I'll get some more rocky assets added!

About Johnson Park. I think this is actually a great design for a suburb park. Alot of parks in the suburbs or at least where I'm from are barely built in just like Johnson park.
