World Wonders built: Oracle, Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Sistine Chapel, Statue of Liberty, Hubble Space Telescope.
Achieved with no re-rolls, no reloading, no mods and no OP Civs.
I don't proclaim myself an expert, however this playthrough is overexplained, intending to give an overview of a path to completing a fast science victory on the highest difficulty settings, that is independent of having an OP Civ.
Feedback, thoughts and questions welcome in the comments section below.

Thanks again for your replies, they've all been useful. Thanks to your guide, I've managed to beat the deity AI, for my first time, with a small map, in a pangea. I went way slower than you (187 turns to win). I was using Poland. And about the extra policies he gets, I can assure you that getting the ones to be friend with city-state is absolutely worth it. They helped me a lot through the whole game, for happiness, growth, culture, faith, and even science! In the early game, I was scared to lose, because allies' spies found out that an AI was planning to attack me (her cities were really close to mine). So I've built an army fast, and she didn't attack me yet. Later in the game tho, city-states gave me tons of units, and she still declared war on me, even if my army was bigger. She later agreed on a peace, giving me ressources, when her army died 😂. I'm wondering tho if it was worth it to refuse and try to capture her cities to get more science. I was just scared of losing all my happiness. One thing though, is that I think it's easier to win on a small map on deity, because AIs don't have the space to over expand and become too OP. Maybe it's only a thought, but you should try out to see how it goes 😆. But overall, really great guide, easy to understand, and really useful! Can't wait to see more gameplay Meanwhile I'll try to see if it's also possible to win in deity mode in Civ 6

Nice one! I'm glad my playthrough helped, and thanks for the kind comments! Turn 187 is perfectly normal, and definitely a good timing! It would be enough to win reliably as in most games the AI doesn't get close to a win condition until the T200 mark I hear you about the city states! Your comment has reminded me how instrumental they have been in the faster games I've played - cultural CS are OP, but all other CS give you great bonuses too! I've tried out scholasticism in the next playthrough for my channel (currently unfinished), so we'll see how it goes! Also, nice job on the war and unit building! I don't like taking late game cities except in domination victories, as they kill your happiness, which can often be fragile. However, if you can manage to annex them, the ones with decent population can give you a good boost in unit production and science (they only have to add +5% to your science per turn to break even) Interesting to hear your thoughts on map size. Definitely a higher chance of having a "runaway" on a bigger map, perhaps I'll try a huge map next and see!

Great walkthrough and amazing explanation. Super helpful! One thing to note is that America has the advantage of land units seeing an extra space ahead (hence seeing the first city-state earlier than expected). Keep up the great work!!

Good early explanation about settling capital. However the one option you didn't seem to consider was settling directly on the copper hill next to the desert. This seems like the obvious best choice to me. It keeps both the deer and wheat tiles to the east in range while picking up all the good desert tiles. Additionally by settling on copper you immediately get +2gpt in addition to the extra hammer for being on a hill. Also as soon as you research mining you get the happiness from the copper being connected (without having to improve it with a worker) the only real downside is your best initial tile to work is 2 food 2 gold not 3 food or 2 food 1 hammer. But you will start generating 7gpt with this settle and can quickly purchase tiles. All in all on copper is a fantastic location.

Hi! I've managed recently to beat the AI in Immortal (lvl 7), on the biggest size of map, with random aspects (I believe it turned out to be a map which was pretty balanced, with sees and lands), by a science victory (though I already took down 4 of the AI by wars), in quick mode. I've then tried the deity mode, with the same settings, but it turned out, that even on an immense map, I immediately get harassed by AIs, so I can make usually no more than 3 cities before they attack me. They usually have some huge technological advances, which give them units such as cavalries, in like 700 a.c, which is almost impossible for me to reach in this mode. They also manage to have a science victory averagely in the 1700s a.c. I've then been searching for some tips or gameplay, to see how people manage to beat it. I've then gladfully found your channel, which is btw so recent, so hopefully you'll be active to respond :). I was wondering if you had tips, on the map type for example; if some maps are easiers than others, or if it is possible to win with the settings I use. Also, which version do you have of civ 5? Because I find so cool that you can see all the info of the tile on your settler, but can't manage to do the same. Any recommendations of which character to chose? I usually go with Casimir III, or Sejong. Thanks in advance for your response, and thanks for your videos. Keep going!

No worries at all, I like helping, and you shouldn't need to watch 12 episodes to find out if you need an answer! Deity AI: Deity presents unique challenges because of all the free starting techs, the free settler, worker, units that are just so OP early game (free settler is why Spain is auto-banned in MP groups). AI doesn't like it whenever you settle within a certain range of their capital, however Deity has a much higher likelihood to act on it because of the bigger strength/bonuses of the Deity AI, so war is common when directly bordering them. I prefer two ways of handling this, and generally you need to do both: 1. AI telegraphs their attacks by moving units to your borders before they DoW. Watch out for it with border units and pay them to DoW another neighbour when you see it coming. You generally only need them to DoW on 1 neighbour to stop them attacking you, so save the DoWs on their other neighbours for when they come back again, since you can only pay for one DoW deal from them to the other every 25 turns 2. Defensible cities. This takes more thinking, but giving up the "optimal spot" for a "defensible spot" severely hampers any war declarer (AI or human). When you settle your city, try and think how many ranged units can attack your city from your prospective city spot. Hill, or flat jungle/forest blocks the unit's vision if they're not on a hill, jungle/forest blocks all vision if it's forest/jungle and a hill. Forts are also low-key OP. A pike fortified in a fort on a hill needs 3 crossbowmen shooting it in order to be losing HP every turn, let alone get killed. If you can't settle your city defensibly, it's often worth considering if there's a "fort position" to set up, and tech engineering so you can set it up On the science victory speed, yes it's really quick! You can easily lose by T200 quick sometimes. This game was very lucky, as you'll see in the later videos! I'll be posting some more normal singleplayer games soon where we get T180-T190, but games are usually won in the early game, which consists of getting NC up T67 maximum, getting through your early building queue and getting rapid growth in your capital (+ expands) after you complete tradition. Map type: Game can be won on all map types, however one key underrated factor is speed of meeting AI. You get a discount on techs for every player who has researched them, so bigger maps and those more pangaea-like are usually better. Also, the more land the better (similar to "more pre-T90-100 cities is always better"), so pangaea tends to win there, and archipelago tends to lose out. The downside of having the maximum map size is the number of Deity AI. AI can become a runaway if they take rationalism and "accidentally do 4-6 city tradition", and having more civs in play significantly increases the chances of getting one of those. Civ version/mods: I play base Brave New World, with Enhanced User Interface (forums.civfanatics.com/threads/enhanced-user-interface.512263/), which is the only mod I use. I use the "legacy version", because the "latest version" is banned in the multiplayer server I play on (since it adds data like "how many movement points your opponents units have left", which is pretty gamebreaking in simultaneous turns). Characters: Poland, Babylon, Korea and Spain (re-rolling until you discover a natural wonder first) are generally advised as the strongest leaders to choose. Babylon and Korea for the science boosts, Poland because it completes tradition, opens rationalism, and finishes rationalism the fastest and Spain because you'll get a free settler from the gold bonus and work a ridiculous natural wonder tile. However, on quick speed you need maximum growth in the T60-T100 timeframe, NC at latest by T67, Unis up in all pre-NC expands by T100 (preferably by T90), and maximum culture once you're nearly in the Rennaisance Era, and you can start to win with any leader Hope this helps, and thanks again for the kind words! (I'll also happily answer any and all civ questions at all levels on stream if you catch me, and I am planning on videos on these sorts of topics soon!)

Bigger the map equal longer war equal more boost to ai thats in a corner and in Peace. You have Sience V problem, easy, just play small map with more ais. Crowd and diplomacy will encourge them to war. Espesially if u pick some of warmongers as enemies 2 or 3 is more then enough. Then u have 2 Options, Just camp and diplo Defend to achieve easy vic5ory or fck em all with your better unit controlling as human. Ai is terrible at war. As for Wonders there r 2 ways u Either building them yourself whith is possible but hard or u pick Wonder spamming civ like Korea/holland etc as enemy and Just conquer them in early renesainse

Is there a specific reason you play on quick outside of preference? I'm curious if these strategies are the same for the other time settings.
@PCJLaw
@PCJLaw 3 жыл бұрын
Good question! I play on quick because I love to play multiplayer, and most multiplayer lobbies are played on quick speed to finish a game in an afternoon (even on quick speed, Info Era games can last 6-8 hours) As it happens, more strategies become viable the longer the time setting! The only real game changing difference is war. The vast majority of game things are scaled with the game pace, e.g. science, growth, tech, production, etc. However, unit movement and unit damage is not. This means that it takes the same amount of time to kill/move a unit, but tech/production changes with pace On quick speed, this means that units are produced faster, but unit killing isn't. It's easier to "react" to an attack, or to out tech the attacker before they kill you. Because of the silly AI bonuses, killing AI thus gets harder on quick speed And conversely, killing AI is so much easier on Epic/Marathon. This means domination becomes more viable the slower the game pace Otherwise, all principles still apply, except that the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus becomes a better wonder the quicker the game pace, because for some strange reason the gold it gives is not adjusted! Hope this explains it!

Is it worth settling a city right at the tip of a full-snow area and then selling it to an enemy?
@PCJLaw
@PCJLaw 3 жыл бұрын
lol! You could try it, but there are drawbacks Science costs increase for each additional city you own. In fact, you ALWAYS pay the science cost of the maximum number of cities you owned during the game. So... if you found one, to give you a 5th city, and then sell it, you will continue to pay the science cost of a 5 city empire, even though you now have 4. It would definitely be troll, but it makes your tech speed 5% slower!

Normally i get 4 faith for not being the first to meet a religios CS . Is 0 faith the case for Deity? Nvr played deity before.
@PCJLaw
@PCJLaw 3 жыл бұрын
Great point - I was incorrect when I spoke! It IS +4 for meeting it "not first" I glossed over it at the time, but the +8 is way more impactful than the +4 It's because +8 gets you twice as far towards founding your pantheon (even going so far as to guarantee it if another hasn't been founded), whereas +4 has a far less meaningful impact on when you're able to found a pantheon!

Hi! It's because I met a Faith city state When you meet a Faith CS they give you gold AND faith. On quick speed, the first person to meet the city state gets 8 faith. The cost of 1st pantheon on quick speed is 6 faith, so I was able to select a pantheon on the next turn (provided the Deity AI didn't found a pantheon before me) Hope this helps!

@@PCJLaw Thank you for the reply. I usually play in Standard speed so I'm not sure if there's much difference. I started a game last night on quick speed to try and figure this out and realized what was happening. Lucky break on this game. How does pantheon founding scale up? First person 6 points, Second person 10 points? That's one of the things about religion I haven't been able to completely figure out. Thanks again for the response. Love the vids.
@PCJLaw
@PCJLaw 3 жыл бұрын
@@JazzAK6969 There is actually a difference on Standard speed! On standard, you still only get +8 faith, but on Standard speed you need 10 faith for the first pantheon. That means you don't get an instant pantheon, and have to wait until you get 2 more faith to get one! Pantheons on standard speed do scale up, by +5 for each pantheon that has already been founded Hope that helps and let me know if you're still confused!
