(Which is what I quoted) Which had two turn of the century film adaptations starring Matthew Broderic then French Stewart. Etemenanki + reeds&marshes is so dang satisfying. The tiles just LOOK so juicy I always wait way too long to replace them with districts, even when the yields are no longer particularly relevant.

That comment on the defensive tactics boost is so real lol The Kongo declared war on me on like turn 15, forcing me into an early defensive war I was Gorgo, and the plan was always a hoplite rush, which I ended up doing, but it was still painful and set me back probably 20-30 turns than if I had done it on my own terms if I had to guess

Cool game so far! I don't know if any modmaker will see this and if they can mod this, but a cool idea popped into my head where I thought it would be amazing if you could get access to Japan's civ bonus. Maybe if you can get to a certain alliance level you get the other civ's bonus? Please someone turn that into a mod :3

Having to force work marsh is a weird one, but at the very least it's practice for the tile micromanagement that's so common in MP! Learning the district vs tech/culture tree unlocks discount meta is another important part of MP. Playing with a turn timer sounds like a good idea. Maybe a fairly long one for the sake of being able to commentate as you play, but having that pressure to act is a big factor.

I have just come to realize the magic of Magnus. It isn't the chopping bonus - I almost never chop except to clear space for a district. The great promotion is the 20% growth. You can add another 20% by being extatic, another 15% with Hanging Gardens and another 15% if you get that science city state that gives 15% growth if you have a campus. That is, 70% growth!!! And it's available early - the only risk is not getting the city state. So my new strategy is to grow my capital as quickly as possible - go Hanging Gardens, go1 Go Colusseum, go!

People sleep on growth! Add in the 10% from the builder pantheon and you can easily get double growth with the diplo policy card!!

I’d worry with a struck turn timer that it will make it hard to watch as a viewer. Maybe you could play the turn off camera then describe it as normal. You have such a pleasant established pacing it may be a shock going to blur play simulator

it seems to me... that instead of having more than 2-3 spaceports isn't worth the effort, as there's so much opportunity cost just to try and shave a few turns off at the end

i agree. with 4 spaceports and standard online SV of 25 light years, you need 1+1+5+9+13 = 29 light years. assuming you've launched 4 projects every turn. this takes 4 turns from the launch of exoplanet. had it been standard speed, it would take 2 more turns to reach 50. had you had double the spaceports, you would win in: 1+1+9+17 = 3 turns. so to shave 1 turn off the victory condition, you will spend about 7200 production(1800x4 spaceports)? its not just wasteful but inefficient, impractical. also, a reyna buy of spaceport in online speed is 3600 gold. that's 14400 gold on spaceports. i just hate the notion of more than 2-3 spaceports.

Hey Ursa, what's the 1-turn blank Religious building available in all your production queues? Is that a malfunctioning mod, or....?

1st tier 3 government in multiplayer needs to be Fascism, then you build your 3rd government building and take your card and move on to Democracy if you're not already at war, (if you are at war you will need to stay fascism for the unit production bonus). I won't say Communism is never a good choice, but it usually means you've lost your alliance partners since otherwise the trade routes from Democracy are just too good to pass up. But without the +5 combat strength card you're at too much of a disadvantage since late game wars are something you 100% need to assume will happen. If you're winning and it's close the 2nd place player will team up with someone else and try to slow you down. If you're not winning you will need to go to war to at least salvage 2nd/3rd if not prevent the leader from winning, and even if you're winning you can win harder by using pillage economy to take multiple turns off your late game techs and civics while slowing down your opponents.

Depends on how far ahead in tech you are. I had no threatening neighbours here and my tech was great so I wasn't too worried. I had the democracy card for defense. In more competitve games, sure this tactic is good
