this is one of my favorite tunes in the world. I'm so happy it's the England there for civ 6. the medieval and atomic versions are my favorite. the medieval one is so lively and makes me feel like I'm in a busy tavern in merry old England. the atomic version gives me chills, and seems to perfectly represent British stoicism and dignity, even in the face of inevitable decline. It makes me think of both Britain's lost empire, and the unyielding bravery of their ordinary citizens in the face of the Nazi bombings during WWII. I'm not British, but I recognize and respect how much their civilization has contributed to the world.

I never noticed until now that the Atomic Era theme has a similar vibe to Jerusalem. The crescendo is about 30 seconds before the end of the song. Imo Victoria's Civ should have been Britain, not England. Many of her bonuses from the redcoat to the museum relate specifically to the British Empire. My ideal would then be to have England, Scotland, and Wales as their own separate, playable Civs in addition to Vic with pre-industrial leaders, like how the Scottish Empire is with Robert the Bruce. (Henry II Plantagenet or Empress Matilda would've been good picks for the English Empire; Eleanor of Aquitaine works. Maybe Owain Gwynedd or Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd for the Welsh Empire?) Would be funny to see them at war with Victoria lol, an alternative British Isles history.
