Civ 6 | This Start Went From BAD to WORSE, Watch Ursa Flail..! - (#1 Deity Sweden Civilization VI)

In this game of Civ 6, we’ll be playing as Kristina’s Sweden, and the objective today was to play a much, much smaller map to the ones we’ve been playing recently.
I’ve popped 4 civilizations and 6 city states on a map meant for just two people - it’s packed TIGHT! Can we make it out and find some space in a world with literally none on offer?
Sweden is a joy to play - automatic theming, some amazing buildings that generate a tonne of great people points, she’s just a dream! So why did this game go so, so badly wrong???

I think I might be messed up, because during that 2nd Flood, I was hoping really hard that it would kill the Settler. When I saw it didn't, but it still got the 2-charge builder, I still chuckled. lol

I have a confession to make: I always turn religious victory off. have done so ever since when in one of my very first civ6 games settler difficulty Gandhi won religious victory in 64 turns on 4 player map.

I don't dislike people who do it, because you should play the way that makes the game fun for you. However for me, that never would work because I know it just cuts off the option for me to get better. I have a lot more fun short circuiting AI religious wins and making them squander resources, than I would playing games where it was never a factor.

Play the game the way you like! Lowering difficulty or disabling victory conditions allows you to play they way you want to.

I always say, whenever I play there is a barb camp or two hidden in the fog that just comes to me so quickly. I never see that happen when watching on youtube with the great players until today. I don't feel so bad now, I figure when that happens they just restart. I'm glad you didn't restart and they just forced to not to expand early. You have no choice but to deal with the massive barb army. This is a very rough start, but these make you get so much better

I called the result as soon as you began Pyramids. I figured there was a very limited number of 'just Ursa things' you'd be able to do in the early game, and that was one too many.

23:45 I'd take Pyramids over ToA almost every time. The extra builder charge is a serious efficiency boost to your whole empire for the rest of the game.

Especially if you are on a floodplain river where you can have farming triangles + aqueduct + dam and have housing and growth, so I agree

With that start, I would immediately start planning out open air museums in a ring, and then putting vampire castles between them. With some creativity, you could get castles that make 30 or 40 culture

As A Swede I'm always happy to see a playthrough of them! I'm not playing civ myself but enyoj to watch it! Then Civ 7 comes out I hope they include Sweden there as well. We have so many great leaders (both politicians and king/queens) and yeah. More represention of other countries then the usual ones.

​​@@turtumurtu3295I don't know and thats because I think its depends on the person and how north that person lives..Winter can be cold and I think most of the open-air museum closes in the winter (maybe not in the south but definitelyI the north).. But in the summer I think many people go to them än least once every couple of weeks! I should also say that we indeed have many of them, often with historical context. So yeah, it's a common thing at least here but how often the go I can't directly answer!

You can declare friends turn 1 with Gandhi just as Gilgamesh, I dont know if that would have been possible with the AI mod. Also I dont think secret societies mod help showcase the quality ai capabilities mod. Edit: watched until the end now, good thing you didn't know this and befriended him.

I usually like to make the capital better before expanding as well, but this was certainly not the game to do that. This was a sub-turn 10 Settler game. then build as many Settlers as possible (which would be only 2 or 3). Even with the barbarian invasion. None of this would be necessary if you were going to do early wars, but you said you would not...

Man, I'd rank Sweden as a bottom 5 civ in terms of power level. All her bonuses just take so long before they kick in, that it feels like you're playing a vanilla civ for the first 100 turns or so. Sure it's fun sometimes, but it's less powerful than what virtually everyone else has to offer.
