I have a whole laundry list of things that I'd like to see in Civ VII. Probably the biggest one is balances to Districts. I like the district mechanic from Civ VI, but I think there was a bit too much. Like, by the end game, most of the most important cities are either districts (including wonders) or tiles that can't build districts on, like mountains, oceans, and strategic/luxury resources. I just want to see the sprawl scaled back a bit. One idea I had was to make it so that most (if not all) wonders are built inside districts, rather than being a district in their own right. That should severely cut down on the sprawl, allowing far more tiles for improvements.
@robertgronewold33264 ай бұрын
i like the idea of having some wonders being build inside districts and others having to be a tile of their own. For example, it would be nice if the Colosseum could be set in an entertainment center, but something like Machu Picchu still was alone on a mountain. Could really make the cities more dynamic.

I have always thought of establishing a "district tile" of sorts. Where you can designate a tile of your choise to be broken down into 3 districts within the same tile.
@robertgronewold33264 ай бұрын
The middle ground art style between 5 and 6 is EXACTLY where I have been telling people the next game would go for years. Stylized graphics will always outlive whatever 'realistic' edge exists at any one time, and will give easy longevity to the game. Civ 6 has had years and it still looks really amazing, so I can't wait for something slightly more grounded. And as far as desires, I just really want to be a better scaling with the districts, so that we can watch buildings in the cities spread gradually with city development. A newly settled city should really only have a couple of houses, and then just spread gradually to fill the tile. Also, I would love to see more dynamic terrain. It would be nice to not only have hills and mountains, but valleys and canyons as well, so that you might not be able to pass over a canyon in the early game in a single turn, but a road could eventually span it with a bridge with improvement. Something else I would long to see is immigration. If your civilization and cities are doing well, we should have pops leaving neighboring civs to join ours, and it would be even cooler if the pops had their own small abilities, such as perhaps a German pop adding one additional point of industry to a city.

I’m hoping for some major revolutions. 1: unique units need to be upgradable to better versions in later techs or civics. (Early Roman republic legions upgrading to Marian reforms legions in the late Bronze Age with testudo formation when under archer fire as well as a pilum throw before mele combat. Then in the Iron Age, get the imperial legion upgrade which adds a ballista to the unit with a ranged attack range of 2 tiles. Also consider the samurai. Early samurai in the classical era wielding straight swords, then medieval samurai get upgraded to double as archers with a range of 2 tiles, and then renaissance samurai get upgraded to have a matchlock volley before mele combat) Units need to go back to the Civ 5 sizes. Why only 4 infantry and 2 horsemen in Civ 6? Globular map. Navigable rivers Fewer districts. Commercial, government, theater, holy site, and campus can all be city center stuff Wonders need to be built in districts and replace buildings in said districts. Colossus is just a giant lighthouse. Library of Alexandria is just a great library. 4th building needs to be added to each district. The mint building needs to return. Gold and gems need to return as resources. The neighborhood needs an overhaul and 4 levels of buildings. Proper urban combat. Tanks and cavalry get combat penalties in districts. Infantry get bonuses. Each tile must be fought for. Taking the city center should not automatically take the whole area. Call up militia project should become available when war is declared by a neighbor. Tiles can be entrenched by units which puts trenches and defense works in that tile. Units can occupy buildings which grants an ambush bonus. Paratroopers need to return with the ability to move and attack on the same turn they paradrop upon being trained. Spec ops are good, but they need the move after attacking, and the ability to paradrop anywhere, including on airports and ocean tiles (they are special forces. Theres no legitimate reason for them to not be able to do this), attack/plunder, then move all in the same turn upon being trained. Oh, and forests also make them entirely stealth to enemy units, even if they are adjacent until they fire. Also they should be able to traverse mountains. Add in mortar troops which have a range of 3 tiles. Dedicated naval aircraft that get trained at the naval air station building. Radar vehicles to coordinate with nearby SAMs to increase their range SAMs can attack helicopters. SAMs have a base range of 3 tiles, gets doubled when in range of a mobile radar. Add urban infantry. The encampment and harbor should be able to house multiple military units depending on how many buildings you have built. Carriers should get a base capacity of ten aircraft. Add the Ageis cruiser. Add the assault carrier which can carry several helicopters and ten ground units. It should be able to launch amphibious assaults from a 3 tile range. Helicopters no longer capture. They do attack runs like jets do, but can attack twice per turn. Make the civs more unique. They get different techs and civics at different times. Add Armenia Add Israel Drones should not be “destroyed” when an enemy unit goes to the tile it is over. IT IS A DRONE. It is flying. Drones need to be able to attack ground units. Bring back the guided missile Add supersonic, and hypersonic missiles which can be Ground based from launchers Ocean based from missile cruisers Or air based from bombers which can carry 4 missiles. Missile cruisers need to have a capacity of ten missiles. Thermobaric weapons need to be introduced. Using them in cities and districts gets you war mongering penalties. The ability to set regions. A mechanic that would allow you to select a group of cities as long as they are adjacent, what their specialty will be (agriculture, finance, manufacturing, oil, mining…) and group them together as a region, then select the regional capital and set a governor. Each governor The ability to make a currency and customize it like you can religion. Which symbol and name, its denominations (1s, 100s, 1000s), which standard, what the economy is based on (oil, agriculture, manufacturing…) Add an economic victory condition. The goal: to become the global reserve currency. You do this by completing aid requests and helping nations rebuild after a war.
@justynajoniak67374 ай бұрын
I wished we had that, if your unique unit is classical era its not to long for you to make it redundant. Also custom currency seems epic, but 1 thing should be inflation, when you are gaining over a certain amount of gold per turn buildings get more expensive, they also get expensive when you go on a shopping spree and buy a bunch of stuff. The effect of inflation in the economy can lead to less yields like production since strikes, food since everything is getting expensive, science since people are not going to university due to having no money, culture since everybody is just sad and not thinking forward.

I really hope they do some kind of overhaul with the war system and the world Congress. The actual combat itself wasn’t as bad but actually conducting war, razing, taking cities, and generally doing anything around it gave players some extremely heavy handed punishments, and made both players and AI refrain from conducting war very well. The world congress on the other hand interrupted the flow of gameplay. By just sucking you out of your business and making you vote on something you either didn’t care about or benefited one or two specific people. I hope the choices if implemented at all are redone and the actual voting process made less obnoxious

Mountain range passage by certain ground units and modern jet engine aircraft including drones. 5. Submarine passage under ice and ice breaker ships. 6. If districts consume an entire tile ( see #3) then deconstruction and relocation construction or new district construction instead. 7. Specific units needed to identify other Civ structures, i.e. a military unit can identify a military structure whereas a roaming priest or trader en route can not. IOW no free spying activity by units who don't understand what their looking at. 8. Where is my secret desert/jungle/mountain/island cove military and alien contact facility? 9. Where is Kelly L. Kind of how in civ 5 there were a few that really shook up the order that you do your buildings and research. In civ 6 I guess Eleanor is sort of interesting, but that's about it. in Civ 6 I ran into the issue of starting a new playthrough on a new leader, and it doesn't really change how I should approach the game. We already got Eleanor of Aquitane in Civ 6, maybe we can get the default options first and then we get options to play as controversial leaders, imagine if they allowed Andrew Jackson to be the U.S alternative leader with his unique ability being able to have bonus damage to barbarians and other civilizations near or in his territories whilst also allowing him to steal other civilizations tiles and districts via purchase and is literally named "Trail of tears", that would be insanely amazing for today lol, but yeah, aggressive forward settling and stealing land might actually be a great early game strategy with a civ like that, at the cost of MANY grievances of course, and other civilizations who have met you and the other civ you are colonizing would have very high negative opinion of you so watch out.

the main complains i had with civ 6 are: AI, i only play CIV singleplayer being dumb and sometime easy to cheese easily breaks the immersion performance (it runs perfectly on my pc, but i also want to play it on my mid-end laptop) too much micro-management when you have lots (military) of units late game being boring If they fix at least 1 of those problems, i will happily buy the game
@stanislash.47323 ай бұрын
I really hope we will get realistic AIs, and not ones that are buffed with non-existent resources. Conquering an AI city with a population of 10, just for it to be only populated by 5 citizens maximum once you govern it... Is just so annoying.

I want the leaders backgrounds and attire to reflect the era they have reached, with a less cartoony and more subdued graphical style. Also, I don't want the game to overly penalize players for having many cities. I disliked Civ 5 for that reason.
@MultiplayerMedia4 ай бұрын
That would be a cool change for Civ 6 re the leaders. Yeah, I don't want penalties for playing "wide" either!

I hope they go closer back to the Civ V looks, otherwise I'll just wait until the Civ V mod for Civ VII content comes out like it did with all of Civ VI content. I am glad they made the characters in Civ VI looks less like bobble heads after a time. But yea I was not a fan of the mobile game look.

@Mark-k6q5b4 ай бұрын
O and one of the biggest problems 6 had was splitting the player base on multi player because of dlc the very least they could do is if the host is using dlc you can also play and what happened to ranked matches people are less likely to quit
