to elaborate on what CD said, uxo's come in many forms, maybe a shell or bomb fell, with their speed dug into the ground a bit, for some reason the fuze doesnt work and it stays there for ages, maybe one day a kid or a car pass over it, and that pressure and or vibration will set it off, cluster munitions specially do this, many of the bomblets dont go off and now you have an unplanned minefield, thats why they are banned by a lot of countries, but russia and the us didnt sign the treaty for it. in a few ways they are worse than mines, because a mine is more guaranteed to go off, an uxo might get a few going over it but then one day something finally crosses the edge and it detonates -im not an explosives expert, nor had any military experience, but this is what i've gathered from being a nerd with military stuff

@@MadsenTheDane The newer stretchers militaries are using today fold up really nicely and are easy to carry, but im guessing for some reason or another these soldiers did not have access to one. It is. We had to carry someone out of the bush when we were teenagers on an Army Cadet Corp bivouac. He was type 1 diabetic and went hypoglycemic due the the massive amounts of exercise and eating field rations. It was lucky we noticed or he could have been dead by morning. He was completely incoherent when we noticed. It was pissing rain, there was loads of thunder and lightning and we were deep in the forest any so helicopter casevac was out of the question. We had to carry him on a hutchie half ( shelter half i think americans call them) for almost 2km to a road junction part of the way though water that was almost up to our knees where we met a land rover and army medics that took him off our hands. That was ridiculously hard and we had no armor or helmets and left the rifles with the rest of the platoon at our harbor site. We were saturated and near freezing though. The only good thing to come out of it besides him surviving was one of the land rovers had a crate of cartons of chocolate milk which we lifted and carried back with us. It was pitch black at night too.

The outbound walk was stressful enough, with the landscape a mess, but the return with a wounded was 10x more difficult. It seemed like every piece of rubble and sticks were in the way somehow. Sitting in a country at peace, one doesn't realize or imagine how many pieces/parts are in a building, or a group of buildings, until it's all strewn across the ground in front of you. Be safe, and thank you for hosting these videos. The written commentary is perfect and valuable to those of us with no military experience.

That unknown rocket sound at 12:48 is definetly an ATGM of some kind. 1. There are two booms about half a second apart before it flies over, the guide wire unspooling and then the main rocket go off. 2. The rocket sound itself goes back up and down in pitch as its flying, which would track with an ATGM as the rocket spins fast as fuck in flight for stabilisation

What strikes me about this video is just how accurate movies and games get the sound of artillery, while also somehow getting it completely wrong at the same time. I don't know how else to really describe it. Like it simultaneously sounds like how I would expect but its still unexpected.

Yeah, I've been commenting on a couple of youtube videos about that there should be some professional sound guy recording those sounds with good devices. Even if there is a record of the sound of artillery battle it would be interesting to hear with headphones. When I was in the military there was an outgoing fire at night and it was a stunning experience with all the rockets, weapons, and tracers with sound and you were glad not to be on receiving end. If somehow there is a possibility to make recording a night battle with good devices with incoming rounds too it will give a new perspective to all youtube soldiers. Night exercises we're "beautiful" but if there is a real sound of war captured it would be a blast with headphones, even in the daytime. At night you can see all the outgoing fire without fear but there are still real sound effects all around you and you know it is a real deal.. so a bombastic experience, fireworks are nothing like that when lethal weapons put rounds on their targets.

Incredibly important work is done here with recording these. It brings war down to a human level. In the news and the papers all we see is numbers, and big moments but in 3D reconstruction. @@cultofpersonalit1888 Yes, i get where you're coming from. But the chance of getting a shot will be comparatively less if you're not standing on a heavily shelled high rise building everytime you use a binoculars and getting shelled most of the time. More over, drones and other techs has effectively replaced the binoculars.
@Zorthar100
@Zorthar100 Жыл бұрын
Binoculars are given to the commanding officer "CO" and sometimes the squad leaders. Its use is relatively low since most fighting happen in Urban areas and during combat the last thing you think of is pulling out binoculars since very often the enemys position is allready known, Popping your head out with some binoculars at this time is counterproductive. And in the few cases you are unaware of the enemies position you position the squad to avoid the general area you think they have Line of sight in "LOS". Whenever you advance you are sure to find them anyway so they are kinda obsolete. And i can also add that those of us that have seen conflict dont pop our heads out unnecessarily and mainly just chill until the heat requires us to supress or kill the enemy because most of the times we´ve run or advanced with a huge chance to die. We´re not gonna give them the opportunity at every corner. You also assign a sniper to survail the enemy positions so the binoculars isnt needed. However!! Its a know fact that wagner mainly pushes at night. Because they use thermal binoculars and its the reason why they are able push Ukraine in bakhmut.

@d0m1n1kcz2 Жыл бұрын
@@thebawzrittenhouse1433 sure, the CZ Bren 2 is a modern, modular assault rifle designed and manufactured by the Czech firearm company Česká Zbrojovka (CZ). It is the successor to the CZ 805 Bren and was first introduced in 2015. Its was sent to Ukraine by the Czech Republic as a millitary aid. The rifle is available in both 5.56x45mm NATO and 7.62x39mm calibers and is designed to be a lightweight, reliable, and accurate. Time stamp 9:52 gives you a good look at the weapon, it has some sort of red dot optic with a magnefier, and an angled grip, the polymer mag is also nice touch :D

Actually it’s CZ BREN 807. A hybrid between CZ BREN 805 and CZ BREN 806 (also known as CZ BREN 2). An unknown number of these rifles were donated to Ukraine. But it is often used by foreign volunteers.
