I’m Ethan’s Mom…Thank you so much for honoring each of these heroes/warriors… and the words you spoke about my son, my oldest, at only 21!! I cried through this entire video. Watching him boxing…he was going to go into amateur boxing before he started doing Parkour, and then we moved and he left for the Marine Corps. He was a perfectionist in everything he did. He was so mature and wise beyond his years. I miss him SO VERY MUCH!! I’m in a family group through the Weatherman Foundation, with Shepherds Mom. Shepherd is from a city not far from where we lived in So Cal. They all had warrior spirits…God gifted each of you guys with that!!! TRUE HEROES THROUGH AND THROUGH! Oh, a quick correction, Ethan joined the Marine Corps just 4 months after he turned 17! He was homeschooled and had finished all of his requirements with straight A’s… We knew the Marine Corps was where he wanted to go, to follow in his Great Grandpa and Grandpas footsteps, so, we signed him over. 17! I only had one person in my boot camp platoon who was 17, out of 95 people! I learn something new everyday, straight A’s makes sense, he was a perfectionist in everything out there as well, as I mentioned, it only makes sense. I’m so glad you watched this, he meant so much to everyone around him. Sooo glad you’re connected to shepherds family too, it’s a small community, and those who were called home to god all live in our hearts forever. We will see them again one day, I’m praying for you all constantly ❤️

He was just glad to make it to the top of the Reaper with double pneumonia and get his EGA and be called a Marine! We even met a guy here where we live who served with Ethan’s Commander in the Army. He even knew Sores from when he served in Syria… such a small world! He now does NGO aid missions to the frontlines in Ukraine. He’s a local Attorney and was an Army JAG. Anyway… thank you for sharing your heart!!! Ethan would hate all of this attention, BUT, he so DESERVES EVERY BIT OF IT!!

I don’t go into detail with some of these stories, but I’ll be honest that I carry a lot of guilt with some of these deaths. Again, this is a video meant to honor their names. When veterans are asked if they killed someone, many of them think back at friends they failed to talk to about trauma when they needed help, or situations where we failed to act in courage to save someone. There’s more names to be mentioned, but these are the ones I wanted to speak about. Thanks for listening, and I hope you get what I mean. YT keeps censoring this so not sure if anyone will ever read it but here goes…I was awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with a Combat “V”. I had EAS’d from the Corps after doing multiple Deplyments to Iraq (x3). I served with 1st Marine Division, 1st LAR as an infantryman (0352/0351 (retrained to serve as an assaultman after we left our LAV-AT vehicles behind because there was no more armor threat)). Anyway, I never really told my parents about much of what occurred in Iraq. I was going to school using the GI Bill living at home when a package arrived. Inside it contained the medal NAM (with “V”). It also contained the award citation. My parents opened the package before I did and read it. It was pretty graphic about what the award was for. Talked about “eliminating enemy insurgents” multiple times. It’s a long story but I led a fireteam that k** led four men in a building. I personally set a M67 fragmentation grenade on one of those men (he was pinned and trapped in rubble at the time). We had reason to believe he was “de ath gripping” a grenade at the time. I sh *t him a few times with my LT’s pistol but it wasn’t actually ki* * ing him because I could only put rounds in his a ** and leg (only thing that was exposed when we were unburying him from the rubble. We could hear him crying and gurgling bc he had a sucking chest wound already from previous 25 mm fire. and try to angle the rounds toward vital organs which to me was just making him suffer more which I did not want so I used a gre nade. The gren ade blew him in half. My team ki* *ed the remaining men. I also in a separate incident engaged an enemy RPG team while sitting on fire watch of our LAV-25 during Operation Steel Curtain. The 25 mm bushmaster is a deadly deadly weapon system. Those men I watched through the thermals as their bodies went from “hot” to “cold” on the thermals throughout the rest of my fire watch. My LT was awake and in the turret by the time I engaged. He was a good officer. He wrote me up for the award and it just wasn’t “approved” until after I had EAS’d from the Corps. I am unique among Americans. Not many… even infantryman like myself… know for certain that they have ki* *ed people. Ki* *ing is something that never leaves you. I would k* ** again if my life was threatened or my family or my flag etc but it’s something you can never forget. It’s not something that is fun or easy. It’s a tragedy even when it’s the enemy. People are people. Just like the Marines that were ki* *ed on our deployments. Thank you for this video.

My Grandpa was a Marine in WW2. Fought on Guadacanal and several other of the tough island battles. We lived with Grandparents for awhile. Didn't have a dad and Grandpa was my world. He would take me to the beer store for his beer runs. He'd let me have a swig of his ice cold Budweiser in a glass bottle. Take the blade out of his razor so I could shave. Just a good man. I was probably 6 or 7 when I started learning about WW2 and all the heroes that served. I excitedly asked Grandpa if he was in The War. He told me yes and that he was a Marine in the Pacific. My excited kid self was in awe of the my Grandpa who I already loved. Next question out of my mouth was , "Did you kill anyone?" The hurt on his face is still with me today. He kind response was "Chris, that's not a question you ask a man." Vets, Be good to yourself. Get help. I'm in therapy at the VA right now. It has been good for me. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for your Brothers. They need that example in their own fights.

I just lost my best friend to suicide. Neither of us ever served, both civilians. I attended his funeral and said my goodbyes 3 days ago. I saw this pop up and decided to watch it on a whim. I dunno why but watching this brought me a little bit more closure. Thanks for sharing your stories, I hope all mentioned are at peace.

I really appreciate this. I've known a lot of vets and this is a common thread. Many people who have walked this path have a line of ghosts walking with them. While it is absolutely a touchy subject and everyone deals with loss differently its still incredibly important to speak about their experience. Not only does the act of sharing stories honor the fallen but it can also help the individual bearing the weight of their loss cope and carry on effectively. Their actions deserve praise far and wide and you sure as hell don't need to carry that weight alone. Thank you for setting a great example and thank you for telling us how great these people truly were. I never knew them but I miss them too.

I was honestly always curious only because in movies they portray the first kill as a really big shock. Like is that real? Or it's different for everyone. I'm going to be honest I asked someone once who was a soldier this question and that was the only reason I asked. I didn't want any details or anything. Just my curiosity got the better of me to fact check something trivial.

This is where, in my opinion heaven and hell come from. If you’ve been a good person and done good things, you’ll see good memories, and if you’ve not been good, you’ll see the opposite. It’s out of your control also, but ultimately your own brain is your judge. Just my opinion, not saying it’s right, but to me it makes sense.

Ive thought same as well. Dying well.. in part, means dying with dignity. So , Live well.. Die well.. and be a good person, so when you are dying, your conscience will be clear.@@thesausage351

@CivDiv thank you so much for all your service that you have done from Middle East to Ukraine im from Odessa Ukraine i live in Columbia SC and I'm so thankful for men like you, im really sorry you lost so many close friends and brothers in arms. I been following you and Jericho since February of 2022 i was very upset knowing Jericho past away cause even tho i didnt know him i could tell he was great man like yourself, and im very grateful for everything you guys did for Ukraine, men like you is what make huge difference for so many guys there right now. So keep on rocking my man you deserve great things and long vacation and i hope you enjoy life after all of the hard work thank you so much. Слава Героям🙇‍♂️
