I always do that with the extra ramps and jack too. You just never know. Thank you for teaching people this!

Man thanks for this video I will start to do my own stuff the other mechanics don’t care for other property I pay for the oil change and they scratch the part where the lugnut goes. I really will not trust no one with my cars anymore.

@@elvincastro9479 Totally hear ya. Passed up free oil changes with the 🌮 and now the FL5. Sadly many do not care about your vehicle like they would theirs.

Maybe make the same wood ramps for the rear too? I was about to tell you about the LHT oil filter tool they just made.
@randomrebuilds3 ай бұрын
@@excaliburO2 I don’t think the rear wheels need ramps as I needed height to access the front jacking point which is behind the engine.
@excaliburO23 ай бұрын
@randomrebuilds yeah just figured if you're going to change the oil yourself all the time, then you have to do this process so many times. Maybe with wood ramps in the rear, you can just drive over it and then jack it up.
@kwin51693 ай бұрын
@@excaliburO2 ramps for the rear would not benefit with jacking up the vehicle. Ramps are only needed for the front jacking point because it is located pretty deep towards the firewall. most jacks including low profile would not have much space to operate the jack in this position. The ramps give you more clearance to pump the jack. Hope that helps

Could you provide the model # for the Spoon drain plug. The link you've provided doesn't lead to it. Do you plan to do the same for the transmission drain plug?

I just picked up one of these with just over 2k miles on at and the oil life percentage is already to 40%. Makes me wonder if the previous owner abused the car with him the first 2k miles.

Got my fl5 not too long ago, took into Honda, and they won’t do my oil changed I paid for for the next 5 years because I lowered the car. Even if I bring my own stuff in to make sure their lift can go under the sideskirts without damage them. Kinda lame but…

One question, what size is the nut on the Spoon drain plug, 14mm or 17mm?. I have older Hondas and run Castrol 0w Euro oils because they pass the ACEA A3/B4 and Porsche A40 Specs. Amsoil uses 100% PAO Base Stocks but does not have the Euro approvals, I am also not sure if the additive package is proper for long drain intervals. I am curious who is making the filter for spoon. maybe you can cut it open next oil change so we can see the inside. I just picked up a couple cases of OEM Honda Oil Filters off ebay, the ones made by Mahle in Japan. The Dealership wants to much and sometimes only has the Fram versions in stock. Personally I would have the Amsoil sent off for analysis then run Castrol Euro 0w30 and compare.
