When axial deformation is neglected it means that the beam will not produce any deflection axially and therefore a horizontal reaction found at one support will remain same through out. So if horizontal reaction at A is known , we are not required to find horizontal reaction at D. Therefore total unknown reactions are 5 in case of axial deformation.

Two of the six reactions(horizontal ones) are the same and are considered as only 1. So the total number of reactions is equal to 5.
