The Civil Society and Think Tank Forum 2024 is co-organized by the Southeast Europe Association and the Aspen Institute Germany, with generous support from the German Federal Foreign Office.
On October 9-11, 2024, in Berlin, the Civil Society and Think Tank Forum convened Western Balkan civil society leaders from over 130 organizations as an official side event of the Berlin Process. Over 3 days, the forum shined a spotlight on Western Balkan civil society's policy recommendations and provided a platform for panel discussions between civil society, government, and other stakeholders.
The Civil Society and Think Tank Forum 2024 began with a Preparatory Forum in July 2024, where civil society representatives participated in seven thematic working groups. In the subsequent months, their ideas were developed into concrete policy recommendations and presented directly to Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President Ursula von der Leyen, and other Berlin Process leaders at the Berlin Process Summit on October 14, 2024.
