Being originally from NC, I love the beauty of my home state. Glad to see someone has preserved this beauty. Would love to see inside that house.

That Infantry button with the eagle is indeed infantry. It would have belonged to a North Carolina Infantry solider. Good hunting guys keep it up. As a Civil War Reenactor/Historian I love seeing other's into history.

+Barry Weaver Thanks Barry - everything we've recovered from this property is on display at this old plantation home. The local Historical Society holds meetings at this location. We've been able to add quite a few items to the display case since this video was shot.

Thanks Dan! I named Wheatie after the first find on that property. That clip didn't even make the video because of all the great stuff we found. It was a 1944 in PERFECT condition. Wheatie is a permanent fixture in my finds pouch. We're already making plans for our next hunt - stay tuned! HH

Thanks Wes - The Ultimate 13" coil really helps me cover a lot of ground at sites like this. It's slightly heavier than the stock coil, but I use a Doc's Swingy Thingy to handle the weight of my E-Trac no matter what coil I have on. Can hunt all day in comfort with that rig. I hope to post our 2nd hunt later this week from the same site. We've practically hunted this place out, so I'm not too worried about the vultures - LOL. In the process of lining up some more old plantation sites as well.

The religious medalion is called a Miraculous Medal. The front says "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The back is the Cross of Jesus and the "M" for Mary his mother. (The stamping of "1830" on the medal doesn't necessarily mean that it was minted in 1830. The medal could be much newer than that, although it's obviously fairly old, considering that it was buried in the ground. Even a brand new one will have "1830" stamped on it, as that's when the concept of the medal was devised. I have one that's about twenty years old, minted in the 1990s, and it has "1830" stamped on the front.)

This is the famous Ashland Plantation home in Henderson, North Carolina which is now owned by friends of ours. Built in 1740 by Samuel Henderson, father of Richard Henderson , who financed the opening of the Cumberland Trail into Kentucky. Frontiersman Daniel Boone was an employee of Mr. Henderson and used to stay in the home. We have stayed in the old slave's quarters behind the house and recently stayed in a small cottage that had been moved onto the property around 1950. My wife is a psychic and has encountered a number of spirits on the property including the famous Mr. Boone (she says he wasn't a pleasant individual) and a slave girl in the slave's quarters who was trying to escape her pursuers. Apparently the civil war soldiers would march down the road in front of the property.

Outstanding hunt man! I love my Etrac and I think it is the best silver machine on the market today. How do you like the 13" coil? How does the weight and balance feel to you. I got the 10x12 SEF coil on mine right now and it has done very well, but it adds to the weight. I love the site! Better watch out for the vultures lol, they will be flying in now that they know the place has relics. Kepp it up brother and come on up to VA and hunt some 1730 sites!!

They are commonly called "Barber" dimes because they were designed by US mint engraver, Charles E. Barber.

You must be aware that what you are doing, if in fact you are doing this, and it looks like you are, digging up war remains is a criminal offence?
