Building design with dampers by ETABS Software

Bro am unable to apply dampers to bracing in 2018 etabs software, it is showing that the objects does not been selected to assign but I selected bracing nd assigned but it is not getting assigned. Could u tell me what the problem is?

Superb explanation on the basics of how to apply dampers in ETABS. Can you please share from where do we get the damper data? why should we calculate the dead loads of beams, columns, and slabs and apply them when ETABS will calculate itself? if you could compare the results of the buildings for bot the cases and explain the effect of dampers it could be more good
