Ya respectfully your wrong Humvees will chug along. Plus one the other had to copy the original that speaks volumes. That all said though I have a 98 jeep Cherokee with the original automatic AW4 Toyota made transmission for those who don't know that very unknown to most fact and it has 230,000 miles on the thing and still runs very solid my 8th one out of 17 vehicles so I love Toyota for reliability and track record BUT the H1 is a proven workhorse just don't expect good mileage😉

In July 2019 I had the opportunity to tour the Japanese “LST KUNISAKI” when it was docked in Brisbane, Australia. They had about 15-20 of the Mega Cruisers on board. It was awesome 🇦🇺🤙🏻

windshield wipers are not drive side dependent; I live in a RHD market and some vehicles carry windshield wipers on the left and indicators on the right, whilst others do it in reverse

Epic. Great video. FYI the indicator stalk on the right and wipers on the left isn’t a standard RHD thing, it’s a Japanese car thing, lol. I’m in the U.K. and our car stalks are the same as yours. My ‘91 JDM-import Hilux is the same as that MegaCruiser.

I'm in Australia (Also a Right Hand Drive/drive on the left side of the road country, like the UK) and most cars here have the indicator stalk on the right (Japanese, Australian, Korean, Chinese cars), with the exception of European and American cars, which have the stalk on the left. I drive a Nissan, my folks drive a Land Rover, so I get mixed up sometimes with the indicator when I drive their car.

It's still, most likely impossible to get them. Like with the old Vipers (the ones with 17 inch wheels), no manufacturer makes 335/55 R17 tires anymore. If you have one, your only choice is to get bigger wheels from a newer model to fit new tires.

My mom has an 03 or 04 Chevy Silverado. It's the 1500hd with quadrasteer. It was the crew cab too so it was long af. The first time I drove it and the back kicked out it freaked me out a little. But it gives that truck an amazing turn radius.

Thanks for reviewing this. Back in the late 90s, I briefly explored the MC and how it could have been a more civilian road friendly and cost effective alt to the H1 Hummer. Obviously this was before the H2 and 3 models were released several years later or so. The big advantage obviously having a mainstream vehicle manufacturer, as opposed to AM General who were far more niche. It was alot of lost potential!

I was lucky enough to ride in NIKES, Tokyo Mega Cruiser in the late 1990s. Bright red with a giant red swoosh. Because of the size of this beast, we had to take side streets and a specially planned route just to get to our destination. Bummer that so many cool rides from around the world are not available in the U.SA.

... and I have this exact powertrain (engine, manual gearbox, transfer box) fitted to a UMM Alter LWB. The 15BFT 4100cc 16v turbo Diesel engine is a torque monster.
Awesome looking Cruiser. I've heard of the Toyota Mega Cruiser, but I've never seen one in person. It's a damn shame that it was never offered here in the USA, for I think it would've given the Hummer H1 some much needed competition. I also find it more attractive to look at than the Hummer H1.
