The 4 wheel steering is awesome! I bet owners of the H1 & H2 wish they had that.
@Kill4Time2552 ай бұрын
H1 can be easily converted to 4 wheel steer , since the rear knuckles are the same as the front and they are held by tie rods that bolt into the frame lol. As for the H2, wish GM offered the Quadrasteer axle a little bit longer and to more vehicles.

The Mega Cruisers are nice IMV for motorized units. Much handier than a HUMVEE but not really good for up-armouring. These were solid rigs for the JDF in a country with lots of forests and elevation change. Toyota does love their high displacement 4-cylinder engines, and that turbo diesel really turns over quick.
@theylied17762 ай бұрын
Let's not forget that the Toyota Landcruiser got its start because Toyota was contracted by the Pentagon to build Jeeps for the U.S. Military during the Korean War. Toyota engineers looked at the specs and knew they could build a better version of the Jeep.
@buschtaxi_net2 ай бұрын
Well, kind of. They were not contracted, they just took part in the tender..."winner" was Mitsubishi with the Willy's MB they produced under license.
@theylied17762 ай бұрын
@@buschtaxi_net Toyota was contracted by the Pentagon to BUILD Jeeps for the Marine Corps and the Army. It was cheaper and less time-consuming to build Jeeps in the region than to ship them from the United States. And I don't doubt Mitsubishi built them as well. But in 1950 Toyota Corp was contracted to build Jeeps for the U.S. Military. Just go to the Smithsonian. There is an entire section on the Korean War.

Japanese Hummer. Odd...I can't imagine that thing being able to drive in over 80% of the entire country of Japan as it's just too big to fit on their roads. What a weird machine. The engine in this thing is a perfect example of the saying "no replacement for displacement"!
@josephsmith82752 ай бұрын
They don’t really need to worry about very narrow roads. 1/2 ton Mitsubishi can do that. As for the narrow two lane roads, they can simply use up the both lane. After all, these vehicles are meant to carry weapons and supplies in the difficult mountainous terrain of Japan and it will usually traverse in roads where Large commercial trucks would drive not some super narrow roads that barely fits kei cars. The purpose of JGSDF is heavily concentrated towards resisting enemies from landing in Japan as it is an Island. Combat in Japanese cities are secondary issue and if they somehow managed to land, the enemy will have more difficulty maneuvering than JGSDF will.
