Good OTFs will derail if they are shot into something. If not, then if the knife accidentally discharges into your pocket you’re gonna get stabbed bad

My OTFs will detail with a sheet of paper. They may make a hole, but there’s no umph behind the blade and it never locks in the OUT position.

Yeah I was going to say this OTF does not seem that safe. A safe OTF will derail if it’s stabbed into anything on deployment. This is because you don’t want to get stabbed in the leg if it goes off in your pocket.

So...skip the Tekto knives. Properly designed OTFs derail when the blade hits something solid on deployment. That's a feature included for user safety. A balloon wouldn't do it, but anything as solid as a banana should have derailed the blade and made it so thay it had to be manually pulled forward and back onto the track to be retracted or deployed again. My personal favorite OTFs are Guardian Tacticals,, followed by Microtechs. Benchmades are good but over-priced for what you get (so are Microtechs now too, actually); HKs are a nice balance of quality and reasonable price, but the absolute best budget OTF on the market today is the Boker Kalishnakov. Only D2 steel but a 3.5" blade and excellent action. And the blade will pop off the track like it's supposed to if you accidentally fire it into your leg.
