Just finished watching all 4 videos of the tutorial and it's a great series. Teaches you the basics in an informative but non-confusing manner. If you've just bought Civ5 in the steam sale and have no idea how to play I recommend this

This Channel is a must for all new CIV players. Coming from zero exp with Civ games nor turn base games, his videos opened my eyes and removed the steepest learning curve in history.

Very helpful vids. True comment on the Chieftain difficulty. I tried it out to learn the basics of the game and pulled off a worldwide domination very clumsily. Bumped it up to Warlord and the same "strategy" led to many early game loses. I have been trying a more passive approach, but you cleared up a few concepts I was unsure about. Thanks.

I thought I'd think this game was god awfully boring, but I'm actually loving it. All of these improvements and small tweaks they've made to make it accessible to different types of gamers who maybe favor Total War (such as me) over games like this, was a great idea on behalf of the dev's. Tried the demo, took my time learning (which is key) bought the gold edition and all expansions all at once!

Civilization 5 was hyped up to me and so I rushed out to get it. Boy did I stumbled. I'm came from the Total War, Age of Empire, Rise of Nations camp and this game was simply deep. Deep is good, if the included tutorial is good. Sadly, the tutorial in the game suck. Thank you for this very basic, but much needed intro to Civil 5. You are the man!

lol... one of the truly great PC game series, ever! I haven't played it since civ 4, but i must get this game and get back in the groove. Also, the best strategy IMO is to build cities, grow the economy, build up units (since it costs money to have a large military) and unleash hell!!!! lol....

Thanks for taking the time for making this tutorial. I love sim games but never played civilization. I have played ages of empires and this is different and looks confusing but says its a very good game so i will try it. Can't wait. I justed hope i can understand because it looks so confusing and I am spastic but with your help I hope I will play the game soon with alot more understanding than when I opened the game on my own. Much thanks again..

I also want to note that the learning curve isn't that bad at all. As long as you have advisor tips, etc on and carefully read all the tips youll be building and expanding in no time. If you play and enjoy RTS games and things like RPG's, you'll find that learning is easier as well. Especially if you play the Total War games, or other ones like Sins Of A Solar Empire, etc.

hey im new to civ 5 but i can help you out with these things With regards to Q1: To get the game, you can both download it or buy the physical disc Currently its 50% off steam so be quick about it buy the gold edition comes with all expansions Or go to your nearest store and buy it Question 2: YES! You do need civ 5 to get the expansion packs. So buy the gold edition. 3. Yes, with the expansion packs you get things like religion much much more. So again, get the gold edition 50% off on steam.

Great job on this. I always wanted to to try Civ . . . . and I just picked it up at Steam on sale. I tried the included tutorial and pretty much figured it would be one of those games I wouldn't play. The game tutorial is horrible IMO, but I knew I wanted to try this game! After watching this segment I'm looking forward to moving on. Going to watch the series then have a go at it. Cheers

P.P.S. I also want to add that this game is insanely addictive in the sense that you won't really think or know that the game is addictive, until you sit down and play and realize that 5-6 hours has gone by in what feels like an hour or two of playing. Especially when you're in a stage of development that is much quicker and possibly at war with another faction. Multi-tasking between building and defending/attacking and maintaining armies makes time FLY, you always want that ONE more move!
@Prolink12 жыл бұрын
I guess my only issue with this part 1 video is that I wish there was more action. There's enough sitting around explaining over explaining while doing that it makes me want to reach for a manual. But the general consensus is that I'll learn best from this so on to part 2!

Note regarding terrain for cities: tundra and desert seem to have more of a chance to have Iron and, moreso, Oil, later on in the game - at least that's what seems to be true for most of my games.

I'm new to the series and just had a few questions: 1.) To get the game do you have to download it online or buy a disc physically 2.)
