I agree that they are amazing for China (just like the Aztec), but with the extra build China gets already along with Liang and the Civic Cards, China could still get to 7 charges without it. I guess what I'm saying is, absolutely go for it with everything you have because it's that good, but your game isn't a throw-away if you don't end up with it. :)

Some words of a china main to the Tiger Cannon: Its great to rush it and get some of those for offense, its range isnt that good, but it takes all Warriors, Archers and other old stuff 1 hit down, what makes it super Powerful, shoot down cities and just invade with a single swordmen

Personally I started out pushing for a science victory, getting the great library and building as many campuses and unis as possible and then conquering my neighbouring civ. Late in the game after I discovered things like tanks and artillery I realised I was way ahead of everyone with science and ended up destroying everyone else and getting a domination victory not a science one.

The civ ability got so much better when the default eurekas and inspirations went down to 40% from 50%. When playing other civs I find myself just a few points short of finishing a tech, but it takes another turn to unlock. I guess 50% is just a really good benchmark.

I think you're underrating China's overall science score here! Given that so many of the Great Scientists provide Inspirations, that power makes just that much more of a difference.

I absolutely agree that the Great Scientists can make a huge difference, especially with China's boost. However, since they don't actually have any increased ability to gain great people, I chose not to factor that into the score.

You are correct, I was trying to get these up on a weekly basis, unfortunately life snuck up on me the past couple of weeks (including having my video card go out this past week). Here's hoping the new video card works OK and I can get the Cree video up this week.

Essentially what you do is pretty simple. Step 1 buy a bola, step 2 buy a builder, step 3 spam out 4 settlers, step 4 spam out 2 builders each city, step 5 build world wonders that you already have researchd, step 6 upgrade your bola to archer, step 7 take out the pesky barbarian bitch, step 8 buy tank! Buy tank? Buy tank! :)
