In regards to one of your critiques of the pocket clip: I received a newer model and they have taken that into consideration and have screws that sit flush with the carry clip!

I never notice clips unless they are Civivi or CRKT.. I just do not like the stock ones they make and I can’t tell you why.

Really digging the new setup, and HQ-60p. Civivi is offering some truly impressive knives for the price point, their flipping action blows me away everytime.

I have some higher end knives microtechs, Benchmades, spydercos, zts, custom heretic mudusa autos and more. I got the elementum after hearing about it from you I believe and since Im a big fan of brass/copper I got the brass elementum and was thoroughly impressed with it for the price! So I was looking and found the brass scale version of this with 154cm for 70$ and being a sucker for brass I ordered it. Man I'm glad I did! These things are absolutely amazing for the price. Fit and finish is superb! Though I've never tried the base version the brass version is one i highly recommend especially for the money! Its now in my edc rotation even being a little heavier! Excited to see the petina on the scales after some use!

Video quality is excellent. I've been carrying the baklash for three months and had to force myself to carry a different knife. For $42.50 it can't be beat. If you start getting into WE knives you will see that their quality is top notch. I don't think you mentioned this has a hollow grind which makes it a slicing machine. Compared to the cutjack and rat 1 it's the clear winner.

I agree it is a great budget knife. Thought I had lost my first one so I bought another. Their next step up I think is VG10 and is nearly 70. All it's liners are gold. My opinion if you don't own one get a backlash they are great knives. I own all but 1 version the newest one they cane out with.

They're moving to v10 at $70? Hm... interesting.. I suppose they're in line w/the Delica and Endura pricing (roughly). Might be something to take a second look at down the road!

It’s just a great knife. Nothing that sticks out but that doesn’t matter. It’s well designed and built. Anymore, if you find that for cheap.. jump on it. Good review Mr Metal! Happy Turkey Day.

Great channel ! I'm new to this hobby and it's nice to see some knives that aren't un realistic or just plane out of my limited budget . But it is also cool to see some big money knives too! Great review. The Civivi Backlash is one of, if not the best, bargains in the knife world. I own one. I love it. It's an amazing knife. The easy to maintain 9cr18mov stainless steel is very good and I'm happy with it. But, yeah, an S30V or S35V version would be great...the overall design of this knife is begging for higher end steel...and that would make this knife one of the best edc knives in the world at any price...IMHO.

Even compared to my high end and customs I consider this a GREAT knife especially for the price after seeing it in person i would have probably paid more if asked! The brass also makes it kind of unique since the petina is different on every one!

Pete from the Cedrick And Ada channel did a cut test on it and the 9CR18MOV was within a few cuts of VG10 as far as edge retention. The difference was insignificant. For the price, it is a good steel. I really like the design, and to me, it's the best of their early releases, and an incredible value. I'm looking at getting the Shard to check out, as when I go into the city I need to carry a 3" or under blade, and the design looks like another winner, although some of the color options are pretty bad, lol.

Man Check out the brass scale version of this knife with 154cm steel. It cost more being it has superior steel and brass scales. I own and carry lots of high end knives microtechs, Benchmades, spydercos, zts and some customs as well and I am thoroughly impressed with this knife especially for the price! I highly recommend it! I found the upgraded version for 70$ and after seeing it in person would have paid more if asked!

@@metal_complex I see in comments below a Kubey Titanium knife foe 70 bucks...on Amazon, theres a ch 3501 titanium, ceramic bearings Im thinking, with aus 10 steel....just recieved mine yesterday, was going to buy this backlash today, but that ch 3501 is only 5 bucks more than the backlash so I bought another ch 3501 instead since only 3 left at the time of this posting....would love to see you review some ch knives if you havent yet....also wanted to know your thoughts on D2 vs Aus10 steel?

Interesting! I'll keep that in mind. Aus 10 is quite a bit more stainless than D2, but D2 will hold an edge quite a bit longer, and also has higher toughness. I might talk more about this in another video. Thanks for the heads up on that knife!

I have one of these, blue handles and grey liners -- so a different run, for sure. My problem is the action is kinda bad. It's easy to open, but requires (absolutely requires) a good amount of wrist flick to actually open. The flipper tab opens the blad but less than 50%... I'm not sure what to do about that. I'll open it up and clean it and lube it and try to tighten it to some more precise level, but I'm not sure that will affect the detent and therefore the action. Very disappointing.
