Just ordered today a Ortis and Wyvern after MANY MANY videos and writeups.I have a small collection of Kershaws which I really like esp. the OsoSweet versions- I have 3. So I will be able to judge the Civivis. I hate to omit but this was a new brand to me. Keep up the good work! 73 YR. OLD-OUT!

I have black damascus on my Civivi Plethiros which also has blackened brass scales. The black is 100 per cent uniform on the blade. Its awesome however, a bit heavy due to the scales.

i went with the satin blade i think i should of went with the black damascus but im happy anyway. the appeal of the 154cm got to me on the satin

I just ordered one so I’ll get back on the Damascus finish on mine. I also ordered the new Kershaw Launch 13 which looks really awesome. Oh and just so you know your voice is NOT annoying. CIVIVI has really stepped up their game recently in looks department, they’ve already released and soon to be releasing some sexy knives. One thing that’s been holding me back on buying more Civivi’s is that large choil area, I find on long cuts material wants to travel right to that area. I wish they would make more full flat ground knives or shrink the sharpening choil (if it’s not a finger choil). Always love your reviews.

Yeah i have a dogma with the black damascus and it looks really great. You probably just got a bad one. But i also should have that exact ortis in a couple days so we'll see

I got mine today! Wow is it nice. I agree with you but I like the blackened damascus. Mine has a few small blotches, but its mostly an even color except for one dime shaped area.

I just got a plethiros in the regular Damascus and it kinda looks a little blotchy compared to my Damascus Civivi incite. Weird.

Agreed - they should have made the blade 3" - (maybe they couldn't get it that short because it kind of looks like they used the same Dogma blade & just clipped it further.)

I personally like the lighter Damascus like on the mckenna. I actually have the mckenna but I messed up and got some scratches on the blade. Is there an easy way to fix that or do I have to polish the whole blade and re-etch it? They aren't to bad but it annoys me when I see them.

is it easy to flick open using the opening hole with the thumb?? I bought a 160 dollar knife once and the opening hole was terrible even though it looked similar to this. I regret it and now am cautious on this.

They never show these civivi knives in action. They look cheap, like they'll break with some pressure put on them

I’ve put every one I’ve owned through all the same testing as I do with every other knife I review and they all seem to perform really well. The only thing you have to be mindful of with any knife. Ground thin is to make sure to know that a thin apex isn’t going to be as stable as say an apex that’s thick behind the edge 👍🏻
