My first knife i ordered from a knife store (and not gas station,Amazon, or Walmart) was my Civivi Imperium in gold shred carbon fiber scales and Nitro V blade. I happen to be carrying it today. Made me fall in love with Nitro V, takes such a wicked edge and is nicely tough. Decent edge retention and great stainlessness. My favorite midrange steel, easy to recommend to non knife nerds like family

Just received. It is a good food prep or kitchen knife for ladies or gents with small hands. The handle is too slim for my palm size. So it is more like a petty, in tactical sheath.

@KCsabi , it is a compact design for sure. I tried to stress it enough in my review, but sometimes you don't know until you put hands-on.

I just bought a like new in box Civivi Stormridge on eBay for $49.99 plus tax and free shipping. It's the green micarta grip model. I'm sure this will be my edc in the summertime. It'll replace my Manly Patriot in D2 (Austrian 1.2379) for the summer due to it having potential rusting issues. My summer EDC at the moment is my Miguel Nieto Chaman EDC in Bohler N695 stainless. I love it, but I really love having a high ride kydex sheath, which the Chaman EDC doesn't have.

I also like a good f u ll flat grind . Seems to be alot more slicy feffinalty sharpens upb quicker due to less steel behind the edge . Almost all of my edc fixed blades are like this . Or atleast a high saber

Love the blade, and I like the handle. It's a comfortable design.And a nice sheath. But honestly, the handle needs to be just a bit thicker. I don't have huge hands, but I would like a little more to hold onto. In my hand, I don't feel like I have a really solid grip. Other than that . . . . great knife.
@BazonBladesАй бұрын
@woodsguy63 , One of the best things about doing YT is getting real-world feedback on these knives. As I mentioned in the video, I knew there would be people that found the handle too compact/short/thin. It's definitely a tight little design.

@@BazonBlades Main Roads are clear, parking lots and back roads still a little sketchy but we holding it down at the office. On that knife you reviewed, wonder what that could do to a Tomahawk Steak? I smoke meat and am thinking about that for meat.
@BazonBlades10 ай бұрын
@tonycollins2740 , it depends on how big the piece of meat is. This one is just 4" blade length, so you would run out of cutting edge on anything big. What do you think about a good carving knife with a 6" blade?

Another beautiful compact fixed blade from Civivi. From the design point of view, I prefer the Tamashii by Terzuola, but the Stormridge looks great nonetheless. Brilliant review brother. Take care!
@BazonBlades10 ай бұрын
The Tamashi was a great design as well. And both are as high quality as you could ever expect. Civivi is proving to be a hell of a fixed blade manufacturer.
@JohnFrumFromAmerica10 ай бұрын
I would have got a tamashii if it was in a tougher steel like nitro v or 14c28n. D2 is not a good steel for that knife.
@SkinnymooseАй бұрын
@@JohnFrumFromAmericaWhy not?
@JohnFrumFromAmericaАй бұрын
@@Skinnymoose it's a fighting style knife which means toughness should be a priority over edge holding. D2 makes sense on skinning knife or a general purpose knife for it's good edge holding. I know I would never use it as a fighting knife but I think knives should select a steel that is consistent with the design.
@SkinnymooseАй бұрын
@JohnFrumFromAmerica OK, makes sense. I guess the way I look at it is, if I need to defend myself with a knife and I happen to chip the blade in the process, I dont care. I mean it served its purpose, it's $60, I will just get another one. The cops are probably gonna take it as evidence anyway. Also, odds are I'm gonna use it way more for cutting rope and steak and other EDC tasks, than I am for defending myself so good edge holding in that regard isn't a bad thing.

The shape reminds me of an ESEE like a 4p or something. Maybe Civivi is trying to appeal to that demographic part of the market?

It's so good that I feel like this one was designed just for me. It absolutely fits every parameter that I wanted it to, and I have already decided to buy a second example in micarta. I just don't see how it could be done any better. At this point, I am beginning to think Civivi's fixed blades are even better than their folders.
@RaulGomez-ji2qv10 ай бұрын
Looks a lot like the Tamashii, or maybe just a lot like a Terzuola design. Guess the main difference is the steel.
@BazonBlades10 ай бұрын
In some ways they are very similar. Although it reminds me more of a Harsey design than Terzoula.
@presidentmerkinmuffley67697 ай бұрын
It is a Terzuola per the spec sheet on bladehq. Maybe it's his take on a Harsey.

Is the G10 grippy?
@BazonBlades7 ай бұрын
It has a smooth finish with a very slight "last pass" surface feel. It feels like smooth G10. The handle design is so good, though, that the smoothness is not an issue. You could always try the micarta/satin version. It may offer slightly more surface tackyness.

You need to keep your measurements on the same system. You are switching from fractions to decimals to millimeters to centimeters and inches. We are dumb americans and I've been drinking whiskey. Stick to 1 so me and the other dumb guys can follow along.
