I'll walk you through...on the first drive the Texans scored a TD 3 times. They said Stroud was short. Then Pierce ran it in and there was a penalty for an offensive lineman downfield. Third time Nico got it. Number 55, the guy who sacked Pickett, is 35-year-old Jerry Hughes. The Corner with the interception ON THE NEXT PLAY is Steven Nelson. He recognized the formation from film of a touchdown throw the week before and knew exactly what was about to happen. Overview: The starting o-line was supposed to be LT Laremy Tunsil, LG Kenyon Green, Center Scott Quessenberry (out for the year before the season started) then Center Juice Scruggs (rookie), RG Shaq Mason, RT Tytus Howard. Of those, Shaq Mason is the ONE playing. The rest are injured. Third center is another rookie, Jarrett Patterson. Kendrick Green, LG, got hurt in this game. Ditto Josh Jones, LT. A guy who was up from the practice squad last week and had zero offensive snaps took Jones's place and rotated with a guy they brought in a week or two ago. I lost track of who was at LG after Green got hurt. Backup RT out for the season before day one. So third RT George Fant. Bottom line: OC is a genius and O-line coach is a beast. Metchie is still regaining strength after cancer treatment and yeah, he was out for the first two games with a hamstring. They're working him back in. That's big brother JJ talking about TJ, saying he'd get fired up by getting into the backfield on that play. One TE got two targets and a TD, the other two got none. Busy blocking. They had everybody AND the kitchen sink on the o-line. Nico and Tank had to carry the WR game (with a little third down help from Robert Woods) so everybody else could block. Nico had a big day. Fingers crossed because he's been injured the last two seasons. Rookie head coach, DeMeco Ryans, is future Hall of Famer, previous Pro Bowl and All Pro middle linebacker for the Texans under Gary Kubiak (whose OC for a while was Kyle Shanahan).
