I'd been looking to level my 2017 F250. After I saw your review, I ordered this exact suspension set up from my local Carli dealer. They installed it this week with the 35" diameter LT285/75R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the factory 18" wheel. Not only is the ride comfort a dramatic improvement, but once aligned I no longer have the truck drifting to the right. I had that issue early on and my Ford service department was never able to get it right.

_I had to piece all my stuff for my level kit; nice to see they have a whole kit for everyone. I bought a Carli dif-armor, extended brake lines, cast set, adjustable track bar, steering stabilizer system, Bilstein shocks, and leveling blocks for the upper coil. It would have been nice to buy a complete kit at once. Did you use a track bar bracket for the stock track bar or a new adjustable track bar? Because for my own build in my back shop, the front axle was out about 2 1/2 out from the center. Until I put the new track bar in and on, then the final adjustment and got it 1/16 from the center again. She rides beautifully; she a 2019 F 250 6.2. The only reason I didn't go with new coil springs is that there's a difference in the rating of a diesel coil set and a gas 6.2 coil set. From my understanding, and didn't want to stiffen up the front end. Many people don't even pick up on that difference, and it will play a part on the ride too! It's old school thinking from working with a big block and small block muscle cars! Just passing on the knowledge._

We’ve always sold the levels as a kit! You’re correct in adding a track bar though. This truck has a Carli track bar, which is the proper way to correct geometry after a level. As for the gas trucks, Carli also just released gas specific front coils and shocks that are tuned to achieve the best ride possible.

Great looking kit that sure seems to rival the commuter performance with a "carli" brand shock instead. So this kit + matching rear shocks + track bar and then just need to decide to either to sway bar drop links or stainless endlinks to complete the "driveway" install? Obviously that $1k front torsion is sweet but any preference between the drop links and nicer endlinks? I assume for the couple hundo its worth it to go stainless.
@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
The only reason to do the end links is to make the upgrade to the torsion sway bar easier. If you never plan to upgrade then just do the drops! For the record, the shocks in this system are actually unique to Carli and not re-branded. They have unique tuning profiles and are made private label for Carli by Eibach. Shocks actually never increase height. The 1” lower stature of the 20+ fords is actually only up front, so this truck just has the front coils and rear factory leaf pack. For anyone interested in this kit with a 2020 truck - truck from the naked eye appears to be close to level, but will be sitting actually nose high by about 1/4”. If you want the slight rake, I’d recommend either doing the add-a-pack or purchase the rear block from the 2019 and older trucks. Kit does not feel (to my butt) significantly smoother than stock, but I’ve only got about 50 miles on the new kit so far. Time will tell. Leaning towards the add-a-pack for the rear to maintain factory payload and smooth out the rear end a bit.
@suburbanhobbyist27524 жыл бұрын
@@SD-bk2uu Thanks for the review. Sometimes I think these guys just notice the ride much more than the rest of us because they do this for a living. I'm leaning towards this kit but am worried about the rear end. I emailed Carli directly and they told me if I wanted 1" of rake then to add 3" blocks to this kit because it sits very close to level with this kit as is, like you said. However, when these trucks are level they actually look nose high to me because of the lines. Also, I have a hard time believing the add-a-pack is able to keep the full factory payload numbers. It's stiff back there for a reason.
@SD-bk2uu4 жыл бұрын
SuburbanHobbyist You’re right. I tow a pretty heavy travel trailer, but even unloaded the slight nose high appearance just bugged me, but was exaggerated when towing. The fix for both was adding a set of airlift 7500XL airbags. It raised the rear about .5-.75”, rides every bit as smooth as stock, and really secured the load when towing. As it breaks in, the kit is beginning to settle in more, and absorbs larger impacts nicely. Good luck with yours!
@seand19894 жыл бұрын
Do you have coil springs for a 6.2 gas supercab? Lighter weight truck. Also, Id like as much up travel as I can get. Are the bumpstop spacers necessary to keep the shocks from bottoming out? I only want to run 35s" and am willing to clearance for more travel. Thanks
@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
This system is available for both gas and diesel applications with specifically tuned coils for both engines. This system more than doubles the factory front travel to 9.6” with the Carli supplied bump stop drops. Removing them would cause contact with the front end parts. Carli carefully designs their systems to maximize every inch of travel possible from the factory suspension with the smallest height increase possible. 9.6” of travel from a 2.5” lift is pretty impressive!

@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
Happy to help! If you ever have questions, feel free to call. We have a few shops in Houston that we provide parts too, but Woodlands does a great job. Between the two, both will offer a very similar on road ride, but the Back Country will excel in the dirt. Because those shocks have reservoirs, Carli is able to add in more damping, which results in a more controlled ride through bigger holes or compressions. Our recommendation is always to go with the bigger shock package if you’re torn between two. If you go with the lesser, you’ll always wonder how much better the performance could have been and it’s easier and cheaper to just do it right from the start! As for leaf spring options, the full pack offers a substantially better ride at the price of a 15% decrease in payload. The add a pack is a decent improvement from stock, but retains full payload. The full pack is only possible with the Back Country though, since the Commuter shocks are tuned for the add a pack and factory leaf pack. As for trimming, give this video a watch for a general guide. You’ll likely have to do less than what’s shown: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqfceHuZg9ylmNk

Not this exact system, but Carli does have a different version for the Ram trucks! www.cjcoffroad.com/Carli-Suspension-2014-Ram-2500-Fox-Leveling-Kit-p/cs-dlevel-14-d.htm

Towing and payload is unchanged with this since it retains the factory rear leaf pack!

Do this shocks ride better than the commuter fox 2.0?
@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
No the Commuter is going to be a sightly better ride. This is meant to have performance that’s just a hair behind the Commuter, but at a very affordable price.

I have a 2020 F250 gas 7.3 w/20's. How will this system ride with say 295 65 20's vs going to a 17 or 18 w 35's, I prefer not to go to 37's on this truck cause I am on the road 90% of the time. I am very interested.
@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
Simply put, the more sidewall you have, the better the truck will ride! Our vote would be for the 17" or 18” with 35s combo.
@Jassman35362 жыл бұрын
@@CJCOffRoad I just wanted to let you guys know how pleased I am with that set up. I did start with the 295 65 20's on the factory wheel and the ride was very improved. I later than went with 37 12.5 20's on a 9" wheel and keep the pressures at 44 rear 50 front...very pleased best riding truck I have owned. I will be getting a 24 and probably going to a back country or better system on 18's.

Been wondering on all the videos you have posted I have not seen a innov8 17x8.5 with the 5.75 backspacing. Wondering if 37/1250 would work without trimming with a level. And with the steering stabilizer and radius arms will it clear and not rub on the inside. Reason I’m wondering I want to run mudflaps so can’t trim.
@CJCOffRoad4 жыл бұрын
If you want to run a 5.75 backspace Innov8 on a Ford it’s mandatory to add the Carli fabricated radius arms and torsion sway bar since that spec will rub the factory Ford arms and sway bar. It’s the perfect spec for the Ram trucks though and might work for you to clear flaps as long as you’re okay going with the extra Carli parts to make it work.
@travisandrews68574 жыл бұрын
CJC Off Road thanks for the response I was thinking the 8.5 wheel with the 5.75 backspacing might work perfect or stocks with 315/70r18s with the sway bar and radius arms

Yes! Carli has a gas specific coil and shock tune that’s completely different from the diesel systems to account for the change in weight up front. Just select the gas option from the drop down.

They can with the right wheel specs and a little trimming. We recommend 4.75” to 5” backspace on a wheel no wider than 9.” The link to the kit is in the video description, but we just added it to the comments too! CJC Off Road I’m not a fan of trimming. The trucks I have 35’s I’m running Carli 2.5 Pintop and the ones with 37’s 4.5. I’ve never ran 40’s but some say you can on 4.5.
