I can feel why she reacts like this when he kissed her, she just realized her dad is dead cos of her, whom she's been misunderstanding & angry for more than 10yrs. She felt awful & regretful abt herself & her dad due to self guilt, they went tgt to the place her dad died, & she's grieving. he kissed suddenly deeply by giving her his power which he would die instead after. She responded to his kiss but then felt strange as if sth wrong with that kiss (cos of the power transferring thing). & she guessed it she doesnt want it but he's holding her deeply. So i think she acts pretty well.

I m a bit surprised why people kept saying the rating of this drama was low. Getting 3% rating in general for TVN paid cable dramas (hs a far smaller audience base) is considered to be quite good in Korea. Besides, i think the chemistry between both leads r great esp during the last few episodes as their relationship intensified n strengthened. Top marks for finale! It's funny how people want to continue to watch a drama that they don't like and continue to criticize every little thing as if they know the story. They watch only clips on KZbin or watch their faves cuts. I was actually one of you guys and I read the manhwa as well. I knew the PDs will change the story and twist it. Actually, Se Kyung wasn't even bad as some of you put her out to be? Emotionless? Boring? I guess ppl have their own preference in actors/actresses. But what's new? I still think they should of extended the drama just to tie up loose strings or to make a more satisfying ending. But like I said I knew the writers will twist the original story in the end. All the signs were there if anybody was paying attention to the little things. Which I guess some didn't even bother, but I unexpectedly became attached to this story and characters. The cast did their best in this drama and I don't care if people hated it or found it lack luster. To each their own, but I really don't like how ever since the beginning there was a strong hatred towards Se Kyung and even Joo Hyuk. Believe it or not, there were many people who also didn't think Joo Hyuk was fit for the role of Habaek. Also being in a cast with Im junghwan who is an amazing actor and Se Kyung a child actress turned seasoned actress (despite what the haters say..) of course there would be freaking pressure. Let alone Joo Hyuk's personal love life was such a hot topic and jealous shippers would just be horrible online. People don't think it matters, but it does. There was just a lot of shit before the drama started and I knew it would have mixed reviews. ANYWAYS... to those who continued watching it because they thoroughly enjoyed it. Kudos!! It was a rough ride from the beginning, but we became attached to all the characters and wanted all of them to have a happy ending. Although it seems short and could of been better story and ending wise..we still cheered on the actors/actresses under such hate. To those who still watched it and continue to spread negative vibes even hate on SSK's IG shame on you. She's just doing her job just like the rest of the cast. Also, congrats for watching a drama you didn't like... you gave them some views at least. Thanks for you opinions and good riddance. I know, right? I had high expectation of this drama since their first announcement, and I have mixed feelings too. Many people said negative things about this drama but if we pay attention to details, there were so so so many hidden clues, which made us want to see even more episodes (and make this drama worth to watch). The actors/actresses' acting was good. They portrayed their characters very well. What would you expect from a handsome-powerful-king-soon-to-be God? Of course not an over the top acting. What would you expect from a psychriatic-an independent woman who experienced being left by someone she loved multiple times? Of course she can't act as to show her broken feelings even though her character is madly in love with Habaek. She has to act as if separation is easy for her character. One thing I felt sorry about this drama was its pace. If only the ratings are high, I bet they would've extend to 18 or 20 episodes, just to tie up the loose strings, to show the answer of every single hint they dropped.

I got the impression that they were really attracted to each other while filming this series. From the get-go their chemistry was off the charts! Whatever scene he was in with Shin, he appeared to be so connected to the actress. He had those sorrowful eyes so you could read the character so easily, and that sadness he had because he knew he had to leave eventually really gave me a lump in my throat throughout the whole entire show. I liked how protective he was too. And the jealousy was an honest reaction as if he were a human. Spoiler. I'm sad there wasn't more of a romantic ending when they went back to her place knowing they could finally be together until it was her time to die (assuming she lives another 40-50 years). I wish he would have carried her off to the bedroom at least. I just want more. I'm going through withdrawal now. I need to buy this series just because it's special. I also need to rewatch it on Netflix. I can't let it go... I'm sad he's going off into the military soon. No newer tv series for a while...

Plus, the atmosphere and concept of the story was very heartbreaking so why they have to mre energetic on acting? It's not full romcom like weightlifting kimbokjoo. Bride of the water god is like a combination of romance and tragedy with a slight hint of comedy to ease the emo theme.

i really thought that Moonlight Drawn by Clouds is the best, but this Bride of Habaek is the best of the best.....it is simple yet beautiful....its like greek myth the korean way....the msg is simple yet powerful....we as HUMANS and our actions. GOD is not rational....everything is there for a reason. the writer is sensitive to the emotions, actions ....she/he is observant.
