In 2002 We drove our cousin from the UK all the way up from Sydney to The Whitsundays . Unfortunately we didn’t have time to stop at Carnarvon Gorge but we seen a lot of other places . We only had 2 weeks to see different places . Thank you for a most beautiful video .

How wonderful! I’m glad you’re finding our channel useful 🥰 there’s so much to see up north, we loved Great Keppel Island and Carnarvon Gorge! Though we nearly died in Emerald due to a lightening strike that hit right next to our car when we were sleeping on the roof!! ⚡️

@@cjexplores OMG that would have been terrifying! 😳 I remember Emerald! We went through there to Sapphire & Rubyvale decades ago when we did a road trip up to Cooktown. We hunted for Sapphires (found some too!) My memories of that area were all the ticks!! 😜

@@naturephotographychallenge it was the scariest moment of my life. Hearing the whistling screech of crackling air as it got brighter and brighter above our tent…I thought it was all over for us both! 🙈 we stayed there after our trip to Carnarvon though but we didn’t find any emeralds 🤣

We bought an air tent a few months ago & it's fantastic! So much easier to put up (it's freestanding on the ground) but your rooftop version is amazing!!
