I've been knitting for 60 years and this is the first time I have seen this kind of cast off and, I must say, I LOVE IT!!! This is the one I will use from now on! I've seen and used about every kind of cast off out there and yours is the BEST. Thank you for your excellent video.

I cannot tell you how much your video helped me achieve this bind off! I gave up on it with Lori's own video----you gave so many more tips and details! than she did. I had to make some adjustments for my own manor of knitting (English style) and at first I was fighting the needles. My saving grace was using an Addi circular tip WITHOUT the cable for the extra needle! That way I could move the yarn around the heel of the needle and not fight the extra cable. I've just finished a pair of toe-up, 2@O socks, first time, and they're the best I've ever done! I'm SO PROUD! Thank you! Norma Byrd.

This is fabulous!!! Thank you. I'm just finishing a top down beanie ( new technique to me). I was on you tube looking for 1x1 bind off ( trying to avoid the tubular sew off thing🤯). THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! I did go down one needle size to do twisted bind off. It looks great.

This bind off is excellent! I used it for a folded down and it was perfect as was easy to match up the rib. Also for my husbands turtle neck. He has a large neck and I find the set up rows for Italian just make the bind off tight! Love this! Thank you so much!

Thank you for the clearly explained technique. One thing, though, with your gray yarn on silver needles with a light blue cord and demonstrated on a gray background was not the best contrast for me. Just something to consider going forward, maybe.

i have a straight knit stitch tank top to bind off on bottom hem, can I use this with just the knit portion? or is there a better bind off for stretch without flare for that? really want to finish up before summer is over,,,thank you
@NewLeafDesigns5 ай бұрын
Hi Laura! Great question. Does your tank top have any ribbing at the hem or is it only knit stitch? You could definitely just use the steps for knit sts of this cast on, although I would always recommend to add some kind of ribbed edge for a tank top.

You mention if the rib is a twisted rib the bind if should be on the wrong side of garment. Please make a tutorial how it done through the wrong side . Thanks

Hi, I meant that if you're knitting twisted rib, you're also knitting the cast on twisted (through the back loop).

I am trying this bind off, but it is not stretchy at all! I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I am going to undo them, switch to a bigger needle, and try to knit looser? I triple checked that I am doing the step correctly. Anyone have some insight?
@MrsGump6 ай бұрын
2 good ways to remember what way to twist is 1) Follow the working yarn - If ur knitting ur yarns in back so twist ur tip towards it - If ur purling ur yarns in front so twist the needle towards it OR think if it as in a clock face - knitting is a "normal" stitch so go clockwise (like a clock goes forward in time) - purling is a " backwards" st so go anticlockwise (like a clock does if times going backwards)
@arnoldfossman1701 Жыл бұрын
I'm pretty new to knitting, but I noticed something. Where you put your working yarn is the same as the direction you twist your needle. I think that might be an easier way to remind yourself of the twist direction, after all the yarn in the front is more visible than the direction you will be working that next stitch. Am I wrong here in some way?
