Glad you are liking the tank. I recently got the 66 gallon sc. My two drain lines actually had a leak at the bulkheads. I tightened by hand as much as I could, and a couple days later the salt creep stopped the leak... lol.

Nice tank. You covered well the other night. I saw you touch the leak but you didn't say much about it lol. Glad it all worked out. Its looking really good. I am finally putting out vids again. Did a review and finishing one for the tank. Loving this hobby. Cant wait to see your progress.

Nice going CJ. Just watch all your videos of this series. We all learn from everything specially mistakes. But as long as its all handled well and no quick fixes, It's all good to go. Cant wait for your scape setup CJ. for many of us, this is one of your classic trademarks. How much total volume does your system hold empty? (no rocks but fully running) I figured when I setup my Cube it was an important factor for many aspects in the future. Rather if its for dosing or anything or just to simply know better physically your system. My 35g cube with 20g high sump, total volume holds 52g running (this is including the overflow filled because it was running and calculated 2 gallons in the overflow alone). when I added the rocks i wanted from the 55g, I added them while the Cube was full but not the sump. as the water went down the sump while adding all the rocks I wanted from my 55g (mind you this was in a rush because the 55g center brace broke) after I emptied out the water in gallons in the sump and calculated the the total water displacement from the rocks drained 9 gallons then add 2 gallons missing from filled overflow. So at the end 52g minus 9g from rock displacement my total gallons of volume of the 35g Cube system *Running* gives me 41g total volume. I say running because the return pump GHP while running (to your specific needs) is vital to conclude total volume as well and not many people takes this under consideration when it comes to total volume of a system. I just wanted to share how i actually got the calculations *Physically* because i just suck at math. hahaha and as you know that whats on paper, may be completely different when our system is running. Sorry for the long reply. but I'm a Huge fan CJ just want to see the best out of the best. High 5! Mel

Hey CJ thanks for pumping out these videos for us! I just picked an SCA 50 gallon setup. This is my first sump. Can you tell me how you filled the tank and sump step by step? For example did you open the valves and fill the tank allowing water to flow through the overflow into the sump? Or did you fill the tank to the overflow close the valve then fill the sump on its own? Sorry for the rookie questions just want to do it the right way and want to prevent flooding. Thanks!
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
Aaron Mele just filled the tank... let it overflow into the sump until the sump filled enough to cover the return section.. they I turned on the return pump... kept filling into water level in the sump was where I wanted it with the system running 👌🏾

Looks really nice mate, looking forward to the next episode. Just out of interest did you try the gyres mounted to the back each side of the weir? This is what I am tempted to do with my next upgrade so both sides of the glass are pump free
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
Lee Shortman I prefer the flow back and forth to take full advantage of the alternating gyre flow patterns this controller has they won't stick out as much once the tank is stocked
@Shortman19907 жыл бұрын
CJ'S AQUARIUMS what's the dimensions of this tank? This is for sale here in the U.K. just wondering if it is similar size to the Red Sea Reefer 425xl, was thinking about running 2 x gyre 250s but seeing this video the 230s chuck out a lot of flow just not sure if running the 250s at a lower percentage would make them quieter then the 230 at a higher percentage

Great job , but that silencer on that lid is funky???
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
T Surro yea it is screwed on. I ether have to removed the lid to remove the cup or unscrew the silencer to remove them both for cleaning.. drain hose is another option but I will have to keep the collection container inside the sump... I'll figure that part out as I go
@aznep157 жыл бұрын
Looking good CJ 👍. One question, if both drains are clogged, how do you only allow the sump to return water from the water section? The baffle? Also, is there a safety for the pump if it is running dry?
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
John Penza only the gallon of water in the return section will flow into the sump. Once the pump runs dry for 2 mins it automatically shuts off until I restart the system 👌🏾

CJ, love your channel and I know you want to get paid......but the Abs after 40 ads which cannot be skipped....not cool....very tempted to leave the site rather than watch your adds over and over.....stick to the ones the viewer can skip. It's not worth having to sit through mandatory adds. You risk loosing viewership trying to make that extra skrilla off of non-skip-able adds.
@CJSAQUARIUMS7 жыл бұрын
Michael M. Not sure what you mean... ads give option for pop ups or video I can't control if they are skippable or not... but I do use whatever revenue to fund this build.
