For the minority of people that do not get the name of the achievement : Canossa in italian means Dogbones (can=dog, ossa =bones) which is also their erb (a rampant dog with a bone in its mouth). So there

This is fax. I've been sitting on my save with all the requirements met for over a week now. The achievement has disappeared from the possible achievements screen so I'm hoping it will trigger when they fix it.

@@RK9ify I've heard that the issue is to do with the cloud saves. Apparently the achievements sometimes just don't work if it's a cloud save, so if you disable cloud saving on the save file it should all work fine.

I tried this achievement the normal way, and got screwed by both the bug, and the Emperor deciding to ban vassal wars when I was just one county away from forming Italy. Also, fun fact I learned while on the futile grind for this achievement: you can get a fucking ton of prestige by allying Croatia and building a bunch of siege men at arms. The ERE will eventually declare war on your ally, and they will call you in to defend. When that happens, ignore the war objectives, and just siege down everything in Greece. The enemy will ignore you, and focus on fighting in Croatia. Croatia will eventually lose the war from occupied objectives and lost battles, but you will walk away with a huge chunk of prestige for your contribution, and a dungeon full of captives. I got to do this three times in one run before people died and the alliance fell apart. Got 1.5-3k prestige each time the Greeks decided they wanted another piece of Croatia.

If your under a liege with prohibited vassal wars, just right click your liege and modify your contract. Offer to pay more tax in exchange for war declaration rights. The amount of you will pay will still be trivial.

I did this one the traditional way but darn, my 16 learning archbishop took 13 tries before he finally got a claim on the duchy of Lombardy . . . I was going crazy waiting for him!

i did it traditionally as well and got lucky when my 7 learning bishop died i was gifted a young 23 learning bishop that got the duchy claim first try. unfortunately the game bugged out with the achievements so i had to redo it all again

There are in fact two major bugs with this achievement, first one you did already point out . But the second one is when you create Holy order and you died. The game will mark heir as without holy order so the best solution for this is to create Holy order last. There are more information on paradox forum about it.

@@thirdvect0r You can take a decision "Revoke Holy Order Lease" it cost 500 Piety and you need to be holder of de jure barony. Then found a new one

i cannot fire the achievement either. i have 2 holy orders that were created by someone else and but they are now in my territory. i have all of kingdom of italy but it still wont fire nor do i have the option to revoke their leased land

One little heads up/fyi. ATM, for the achievement to ping, the character that founded the Holy Order has to still be alive once all other conditions are met. If it starts taking a little too long and/or Matilda dies unfortunately young after founding, you'll have to kick out her order and create a new one.

Unfortunately, Insular Christianity no longer works this way two years later LOL. I wished I learn this method earlier. Anyway, I started working on this achievement last night with House of Perma. My titles got stripped of randomly even if I had title protection and the game ended immediately. I am going to have another attempt tonight. Let's hope things go well during this run.

Did I understand correctly when you said its a cloud save problem? I wanted to get all the acheivments by the end of the month and was setting up a date to do the Duarma Dura one all in one day but if i can just turn off cloud save that would be a big help. I'm down to 10 rn.

Amazing tutorial! Just one question , sinse this is my first CK Questions always pop up in my head. Why do Emperor Heinrich IV decide to grant vassals when you earn the title of Kingdom of Italy? I was doing this exact achievement and when I got the title of Kingdom of Romagna and Heinrich IV gave me 3 vassals

The AI will **always** attempt to givve all de jure titles to whoever holds the title of it. So if you were to become King of Germany, he'd hand over all of the de jure Germany vassals over to you! "It's rightfully yours" is the approach there!

@@DFNR thats because of the in-game mechanics of vassal limits. In order to the AI not get debuffs, it will give all your dejure shit,

@@heiko5129 @Deffenerst or, because you are a powerful vassal and they don't want to anger you. the game gives your character too an opinion number towards others, the same way it does to NPCs. so, technically, if your liege holds many of your de jure land, you 'are' upset according to the game. always giving away de jure land is a pretty straightforward code to hold AI realms together.

Need help with ck3 give a dog a bone achievement. I have 2 holy orders in my domain that were founded by other people. For some reason I cannot found a holy order of my own (decision is gone) not can I revoke leased lands because they have cities and baronies in my vassals counties. Anyone know what I can do to get this achievement? I have all of kingdom of Italy as well as the empire of Italy

Bit more risky but you can romance the Pope and then get him to grant you a claim on Lombardy.

My main takeaway from this guide is the fact that I can enter traits and religion in the search bar and filter characters like that. I thought how stupid of Paradox to not include a filter for religion besides All/My Religion/My Faith

I would love to see you do the "Al-Andalus" achievement next! (As Iberian muslim, conquer all of Spain and southern France) I know it is probably much easier on the 867 start but I wanted to do it on the 1066 start... only that 1066 Spain is an actual hellhole of war where all of the muslim factions wage war against each other constantly, only to get slowly wiped out by catholic Spain (Castille) and France... Tried two times now, got annihilated the first time and barely managed to keep me alive as an Emir the second time, but without any chance against other 2+ alliance Sultans and Emirs, and a Spanish-French army stack of 7000 xD

What does the child education trait quality exactly depend on? I educated my child with fitting childhood trait to 1 star stewardship although I had about 30 stewardship and 20 learning. Had a 4 star marshal education though. So it depends on the own education trait?

Always do the holy order last!!! If she dies before doing everything else then it acts like your heir has no holy order. I learned that the hard way.

Don't know if you still want to know, but yes you can. And the achievements are fixed now so you don't have to do this strategy and can play the game normally.

if you play with a german client you can´t get the Achievement. switch to englisch client and u will see it as makeable.

The save game bug is really annoying. I tried going for the achievement to start as a son of ragnarr and control all of Britain. It took me a week or so, only to not get the achievement (luckily I did get some others along the way)...

just got this achievement at 5am, and now i find this video lol! just my luck. still i found it funny that i went for the empire of Italia while waiting for the dynasty members to grow but at around 36 living members it kinda stagnated, so i switched to insular christianity and as Matilda’s son i had 16 children with my 4 wives

@@RK9ify I don't recall exact steps, I know that in the beginning I started as Charles the Bald and reformed the HRE by the end of the campaign. But honestly it's a lot of luck, just somehow getting lucky enough to have all of the Karlings stick around in central europe and not inherit land in the middle of nowhere. Keep in mind that there can still be landholding Karlings for the achievment, they just have to be your vassals.
