How about setting up pass plays? Turning a cage into a pass play? Pass plays from the kick off? Throw Teammate plays? Alternatively, Secret Weapons and fouling and bribes.

Maybe next week discuss abilities worth picking up? And which ones we should have set to automatic and which we should get prompted for? Videos are great man, really helping me get this game down.

You never add money from your treasury to inducements. The main reason being that any amount you put it will either also be given to the opposing coach, or if your TV is lower will just reduce the amount the game would give you.

Great guide, I've been having trouble getting my cages up the field, so this might help. Thanks! Also, I like how the Wardancer at 8:45 looks like it's just saying "oh no you didn't!" over and over again.

Make sure you change the settings so that the game asks whether to use the skill. This way you can decide whether the Wight lays down or not. Also most of the time you only want to use piling on to re-roll the injury roll if you only get stunned (but if you reroll a KO to get a casualty and the second roll results in stunned, the player will only be stunned. You really don't want to use it all the time)

Thanks for the new guide, particularly about the explanation on Kick. I got Kick on an Elf mostly because "bbtactics said so" and I haven't been able to make heads or tails of it so far why it's supposed to be so great (as to me it always seemed like he was kicking just as badly as anybody else).

Guard is just one of those skills you can never have enough of. It's really big on linemen after they get Block.

I agree in general that there should be as much gameplay as possible and I'll try and work on that. That said though, I did show of both the scatter template when I started talking about it, and the cage has already been covered in a previous video and is in clear view in this episode as well. It's always a balance between showing stuff too late and/or too soon. But yes, a bulletpoint might have been a good idea.

You forgot about throwing gobbos/halflings/snotlings at the cage. With five squares occupied by the other team if you throw it towards the ballcarrier there's at least a small chance you might perhaps goomba stomp one of them with your living breathing suicidal projectile.

hey cknoor, you should do a guide to dealing with elven teams. I managed to figure out the best way to deal with them just by trial and error, but they sure get the blood boiling. Essentially what I do is as the ball can be knocked out, I surround it with as many players as possible since they are best at handling the ball, but not with being in skirmishes which forces them to get near you.

Yes guard makes it harder but not to knock off a corner as you can do that without being in any other enemy tz. The reason I don't mention guard and other skills is mostly due to it making everything more complex than perhaps a beginner guide should be. And the core idea is still the same regardless of skills.

Really appreciate these videos, just got the game. Was playing elves and faced a bashy team, he was bold and pushed towards my screen. What is the best option, to try dodge without dodge and move the screen backwards or do 1 dice, at best, blocks? He had more players in his "cage" than 4 corners and carrier, and i was 2 men down. My mind went nuts in trying to do anything. If anyone has tips on how to adapt the screen when a bashy heavy team just guts it out towards it, i would be happy.

Wouldn't having guard or side step on your bigger cage prevent chain pushing by forcing either where you are going to be your choice, or forcing folks to throw dice you can choose so that push isn't an issue? But what I mean is in putting guard on a thrower/carrier and his buddies just make getting inside the cage pretty dang hard past certain points since you have his players that are pretty much a big guy without the negatives in that cage? But a good episode.
@cKnoor
@cKnoor 11 жыл бұрын
Yes you dodge back on square and just keep players out of basecontact. That will hopefully stall the cage enough that he won't be able to score in time.

Thank you for a quick reply. Given your talking about cage breaking in this, have you found its a good thing to make a dedicated breaker for cages, or does it vary by team what should be used? Or mostly just use your teams dedicated blitzer/big guy (for those like khorne) I asked about the guard thing, as you tend to see it somewhat early in games, either first, or second on average somewhere along the line in what I have played against. The others being block/dodge mainly.
@TheStratovarian

Thank you for the reply, I mainly play dwarves/khemri. So i know its a slow game for me. Given its about making sure they aren't getting up. I tend to ensure players are staying down very quickly with guard or mighty blow/tackle (if im playing against alot of dodge teams) With khemri, the big guys tend to ensure someone is likely going to stay down, sadly, i have the worst luck getting doubles, so im sadly used to being block-less. That and never expecting to get any agi up on the throw-ras..

Oh yeah, absolutely. I learned that lesson the hard way when I accidentally picked up both block and tackle on one player.

Is it possible you can discuss Block/Dodge and Wrestle/Tackle players and why their both really good ways to build your players? Block/Dodge making them a lot harder to knock down and Wrestle/Tackle being the hard-counter to that.
@cKnoor
@cKnoor 11 жыл бұрын
I pick the lineman as he doesn't have block/wrestle or dodge so he'll be the easiest to blitz down.

Mostly that you need to keep track of the turns, a High Elf team can easily do a 2-turn touchdown, so make sure you don't let them.

As others have said, the only real other thing to talk about is how to play a pass play team, or just pass play tactics in general.

cKnoor, I was playing as Humans against a Nurgle team, I was totally destroyed, but the guy was realy cool and all. I asked what i should do as humans to win or at least survive. He said i shoul do a H cage, but i couldn't find how that looks like. If you could explain would be great.

Hey cKnoor, do you think about making videos representing races in BB? Well im interested specially in your tips for players who like playing as a Skavens (they are my favourite race of Warhammer)?. Is there change between lets say "vanilla" BloodBowl and Chaos Edition BB? Steam is right now downloading Chaos Edition and im curious if they changed something...

Does screening apply even if you have a bash team thats not as bashy as the other one? I'm asking as I'm trying to play chaos dwarf so they are pretty slow and based almost soley on bashy but aren't that strong (till you get the centaurs block and a mino). So if I'm up against say chaos of lizardmen should I just screen or does it depend on if they have block as well?

Hey cKnoor, thanks for the tutorial videos although I want do give some criticism on this one. You spend too much time talking over a blank screen with only our lovely Mr. Hadwick and a title to look at. In the kick segment it would be better to at least have bulletpoints of the rules you are reading and maybe an image of the scatter template. In the cagebusting segment you could at least show a screenshot of a cage so people are reminded how it looks. Just a suggestion to make the videos better

Ch.orfs have too low ag to dodge away for a screen. So it's just something you'll have to deal with.

It doesn't work that way, if you're the team with the higher TV then you'll have to add 50k to buy the babe, if you're the lower TV team then adding money will effectively raise your TV so you'd still have to add 50k to get the babe.
