I like this. I initally ignored it because most of these kinds of "Guides" just talk about stupid shit like "You move by right clicking where you want to go" and "score a touch-down to score" Your guide actually tells me stuff.

Suggestions for the next one: How to break or delay a basic cage, and when to do it. Blitzing, moving after a blitz and how to initiate one when in block range of the player already. Defining the difference between safe dodges and poor dodges. Using the end of a delayed turn (2-1 grind) for a pass to get a free SSP. These are some where I frequently see inexperienced players make mistakes or simply don't know how it works and what to do.

Have you considered doing basic ways to play each race? Would be fun to watch.

The reason you bust with the WD is to get the cage to move quicker and do riskier stuff. You might not bust the ball lose, but the fact that you can means your opponent need a solution to stopping you. That usually means scoring.

There is one thing that I feel should be mentioned in this guide - Blitz. When your high strenght/low agility player has the ball, is standing next to end line, and then some weakling stands next to him forcing him to dodge to TD, which he most probably fails, what should he do? Blitz, because no one ever said, that you must to make your move before blocking while blitzing, it also works the other way. Block, then run. Kind of important for bashy teams, situational for others, but still... :x

Great video. Focusing on movement related blocking would a good place to go next. Like cage breaking and surfing and how blitzing ties into both of those.

At 5:02, he did follow up, which left that following-up player in a tackle zone of the first elves pushed. if the second attacker did not follow up, he would remain next to the third and final elf, and not be standing in any other tackle zone, and would then be able to provide an assist, giving the third human a 2 dice block

Good video, so many of the TGS coaches still had no idea why they were getting 1 die blocks sometimes, and 2 dice blocks at others. Could have been an idea to mention the exception to the assist rules that is guard, and also explain the ways players lose their tackle zones.

Really enjoying Blood Bowl thanks to the TGS league and of course your help. My friend however is not... because I murder him every game. I've also gotten pretty good against the AI, which seems pretty braindead even on hard. I think I'm finally comfortable enough to try matchmaking. Thanks! Also, thank you for honoring Patty Pachycephalosaurus with your RT. To be honest he's actually still alive and well because I alt-f4ed the game. But I've reformed now, I swear! You can't cancel someone else cancelling you assist. An opposing player stops any assist that are in his tackle zones (assuming he's not the person getting blocked) It doesn't matter if the same opposing player are stuck in other tackle zones.

Hello. First of all, I like your work on BB. I’m not anymore a beginner essentially because of your first videos. I don’t understand all that you are saying with Ethan and the others, but almost. I understand that Frenchies are not very appreciated, and I’m one of this Frogmen . Fortunately I have a good sense of humor . Maybe you could do a video on the basic strategies? Like the throwing game and the running game and the passing game and the "murder everyone on the oposing team"-game and what skills are good for those different strategies, as well as possibly a rough overlook on which teams are good or ill suited to the different games? Maybe even a basic overview of what the different positionals do, though that may take a long time (for instance, explaining newer coaches that Thro-Ras make Khemri pass plays)

Thank you for the guides. I already got experience in the Warhammer Universe but not in Blood Bowl. So I really appreciate this because this is different from just playing Table Top Warhammer 40K. And I got to ask: Will you make guides for the different play styles of teams like Orcs or other bashier teams and on the other side the Elves (or the more agile teams)? Because I tend to play Orcs because they are my favorite for a long time and I would like to get some tips for those teams.

i use your defensive line ups (the regulara and the lizardman one) every game now and i have to agree it midigates ALOT of potential run bys and turn 1 dmg that can be done which is critical at deciding what happens 3 or 4 turns in. Also i feel the lizardman grind strategy is significantly different as i always end up scoring 3 or even 4 to 0. I just can't play them defensivly since the team is basically a glass spear with the skinks.

Team setup would be an interesting topic mainly because I want to see your suggestions for some of the beginner teams, as well as what you think are good beginner teams. cool thing i did with my lizardman team, I had one skink with catch that i placed center of the field and another skink with sure feet, sprint, and luckily 2+ movement. So with the other 2 skinks placed strategically, i would pick up the ball and get as near as possible to the catch skink to pass the ball to him. I then have him run up to the skink on the front line to hand it off. After making a hole in the defense, that skink can actually instantly score XD

Maybe in the next video you could talk about the stats of the players. For example how much strength difference do you need to get a 2 or 3 dice block. How high do you need to roll with 3 agility and how much with 2 agility. And what if you are in 2 tackle zones how much is it then. How about the armor roll how do you know with which dice he will get injured.

Thanks for this video, for a future one I really would like to know how to break a dwarfen or other strong teams cage with a fast one aka skaven, elfs etc. If I let them pass they just wait in the endzone and grind my players, if I try to break it I don't ever get two dice and I'll be grinded as well.

It's a decent guide, the shame is that cyanide game not having a guide of its own and few explanations on things, but then again I bought a digital version I could say what kind of material comes with a physical copy of it. A lot of it is self explanatory anyway imo but still they could at least link to the rulebook or include little clips like what you did here inside the actual game, I can't imagine adding a info tab being that hard.

The too fouling skills in the game are Dirty Player and Sneaky Git. When you build fouler you usually take the cheapest player you have an only give them Dirty player. You're aim is to foul players that have a higher value than your fouler, that way the risk to you is less. So there is no point in adding a bunch of extra skills on top of fouling skills as that would just make that player more valuable than those he wants to foul.

Will you be viewing skill options that are alike but different, like the when Wrestle is better, over block for certain teams, or how to stop certain common builds? (Like blodgers i think the term is) Or another of how to learn new teams outside your own area of expertise? I play dwarves, and orcs, yet can't seem to even make a basic go of any other team at all, to cite an example. Even ways like how to ensure casualties would be of great help to teams that need wounding spp's over scoring ones?

Hey, thanks for this video - very informative. I'm begginer coach - playing mostly against AI now. Tried some orc team - and they feel good - quite mobile and bashy. Tried Wood Elves - they are cool, but defending as them sux. You said - go bust the cage with your WD. My question is - in league environment - would you really do it? I mean - I play 2 WD + 9 lineman. Line guys are my cannon fodder (few of them died already - yeah I know - big surprise). But WD? After few games they are lvl 3 and 4

Most times, when cage is set - I'm goin against 2 dice roll. You can sometimes you can negate assists (but then atleast 3 of my man are at bashing range and thats kidna baaaaad). So even though WD 'could' leap and try to break the cage - my question is - should she? Because what I've seen watching TGS league - bashy team has advantage in long term. Easy - their players dont die (TB Dorfs and Crendor Lizards), they dont have to hire subs, so they can spend cash of rerolls.

I'm going to be getting both version for my birthday in april. So I plan to make a dirty player skaven team. I wanted to ask you, is this reliable. I seek to get the standard dodge, block, sure feet, and extra ma. But if I have the chance to get dirty player, then it might take priority over a small amount of the skills. My second question is, can you think of any other skills that help with fouling and have any suggestions on strategy. Your Khorne team is so far my favorite.

What is a good team for a beginner who knows that heæll likely play slightly agressively and a bit risky? From what I've learned from the TGS league and yourself I'd assume Norse, Human, Amazons or potentially Dark Elves(mostly because they're not super squishy but have good AG and MA). Also about takle zones I have found 1 occasion where I got 3 red dice once but did not take it as let me be honest when in the hell are you going to go against an odd like that and win that is like doing 2 +6 dodges, it is not happening even with dodge and a reroll still not happening either way to get this outcome you need to have a weak player surronded to have this outcome just putting it out there as the mythical 3 red dice do exist and it is scarry :p heck the occasion i got it in a replay and if you want to see it so badly i will try to find the replay and locate the part where it comes up to show you it was a friendly match against easy AI to train.

Also, that means they have better chance of getting high lvl team than other teams (say Wood Elves - who can easly get oblinerated). Bottom line - help me here please cause I feel defending as WE sux. What I try to do - I put a defensive screen and move it back slowly - using dodge out to avoid direct contact (other than blitz that is). But that SUX ballz. I mean - i have to make so many rolls just to get away. And even with AGI 4 and dodging to no tackle zone - there's chance of turnover.

no, rolls are random- I'm not going to get into number seeding programming talk- but everytime you roll a dice, you have a 1 in 6 chance to get any outcome, what you rolled previously has no bearing on what you will roll this time. the level of a player has no affect, only his skills. some skills add or minus numbers to a dice roll which will affect the final result after doing the math, but it will have no affect on the actual roll.

+Kratatch well, you HAVE to be in an enemy's tackle zone in order to attack. there's no way around it because the attacker and defender have to be adjacent to each other. as such, being in the tackle zone of a single opponent does not negate the assist. that's how i understand it, anyway. hope that makes sense, i'm still a noob at this game.

kdillie1 There are a few instances where a standing player can lose their tackle zones, depending on skills. For instance, the 'Bone-Head' skill reads: "...you must roll a D6 immediately after declaring an Action for the player, but before taking the Action. On a roll of 1 they ... can’t do anything for the turn. The player loses his tackle zones and may not catch, intercept or pass, assist another player on a block or foul....
