Fascinating - absolutely fascinating. I was a volunteer on Tel Katzir in early 1969 (yes - that long ago) when it was still developing after the Six Day War some 18 months previously. Most of my time was in the banana fields. A katyusha rocket landed in the banana patch one day, which stopped the picking a for a while. We did have to spend some time in the bunkers, as the PLO was still active across the border in Jordan and we had a small army unit billeted on the kibbutz. Are the bunkers still operational ? A memorable time that has lasted.

I was there/here in the early eightheens (80ziger). First in the "bananas" (only a little bit - one day :-) and then in the "garden", together with "Peter" :-) our master was named "Israel"

Shalom, Caleb. I just found your video and I was taken way back in time. I spent one semester in Israel with Baptists for Israel Institute. I was there in 1981, between August and December. I lived on kibbutz Ma'agan just down the hill from you. Man, I would really love to go back to Israel. I'd love to bring my wife and show her around. I wonder if any of the kibbutzniks I knew would still be there. Speaking of which, are Leeland and Mary Crotts still around? I liked the song you had playing in the background on your video. Can you tell me what it was called? God bless. Sha'alu shalom yerushalayim!
