@@deewynn the West been on that street chit. I wasn't referring to that. I was actually referring to the East. Onyx, Run-DMC went all black. MC Lyte, was in jeans, boots and hoodies. Heavy D , was even dressed in that attire. Brand Nubian. Chit was dark.

That was such a special time in hip hop. Great music, lyricism and times. U could go to a party and boogie. Even r& b and tv was good. Heavy d could dance too. He wasn't a joke. He was a fluffy fly guy. I believe he paved the way for chubb rock n biggie.

I remember driving in the family van from Downstate NY to VA and then to FL. My older sister and I took turns with the Walkman and T.R.O.Y. single for almost the entire trip. 30 minutes unless the other went to sleep and we drained batteries.

I don't think people fully understand the lyrical master class and cadence that was being displayed on TROY. Its quiet honestly the perfect song. U will never hear that song being sampled because it was only one way to rhyme over the beat and CL Smooth invented it. The beat don't make the song and the rhymes don't make it either its like they both were meant for each other.
