Our OISC Immigration Lawyer, Mr. Oliver Westmoreland, explains about the process of claiming Asylum in the UK. What status the applicant might be granted and what options are available if an asylum claim is refused or clearly unfounded.
You can apply for asylum in the UK if you manage to enter the UK as it is not possible to claim asylum from outside the UK.
Asylum seekers can be provided with financial & accommodation support in the UK and if they have their family outside the UK they can apply to join the main applicant in the UK.
If an asylum claim is accepted by the Home Office the claimant is granted the Refugee status and upon completion of 5 years can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
Asylum seeker can apply for permission to work while their claim is outstanding and in process by the Home Office.

Thank You sir for this informative vedie. I have applied for asylum and have gone through the pain in country. I went everywhere in country to look for help and I was fed up and tired. Now when I arrived Uk 🇬🇧. They don't feel it's bad because it has happened last year. I'm still affected by the pain caused me. I'm hiding and going place to place because of it. I hope they will understand that Im not laing but honest.

Wao that's a first. This complicates your matter Home office don't pause anything they would have made a decision. Best to instruct a qualified lawyer and sort this.
