It is a pity that the Bluthner is not more well known and available here in the US. It certainly has a warm, rich, incomparable tonal quality. To hear pieces like Debussy's Clair De Lune played on a Bluthner is a treat to the ears.

The resonance provide by the aliquot scale so full and rich. I can just imagine Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, Chopin's Nocturne in D minor played on that 1882 Bluthner. Beautiful. I have heard this piece with the heart in it, and the dream, -you play it with an honesty and depth that makes my body relax-and feel as if I am surrounded by Nature- you know, Debussy wrote from Sound, and not Music, they say- (he said? I think)- to portray Nature- Good job, tennis shoes and hands!-and old Bluthner!

the bluthner sings like no other piano..sadly steinway are the piano mafia who rule the concert halls with an iron rod..

Agreed. I have long wanted to hear this piece performed on a Bluthner. The piano certainly does Claire De Lune great justice. Absolutely beautiful. It's a pity that the European pianos like Bluthner, Bechstein, Grotrian, and others are not well known in America.

to me , i would go for a bluthner not stienway , not even yamaha , its just bluthner all the way from uprights to grands ....... such a warm and soft sound omg , heaven on earth !!

Le piano que Debussy préférait à la fin de sa vie. Le sien, similaire au vôtre, est conservé dans un musée à Brive, en Dordogne. Des bleus, des ors patinés, sublime ! Conservez-le bien...
