This is fascinating. How much improvising along these lines would you, with your expertise, be comfortable doing on a solo piano gig? Or is this the kind approach you'd feel the need to actually arrange to some degree before sitting down to play for even a casual audience?

I'm very comfortable doing this kind of a thing on a solo piano gig. It might not last as long or follow rules as strictly as I'm demonstrating here, but I'm very comfortable starting out with something like this and seeing where it goes.

Very sweet and fun! I love the third example of Debussy arpeggios, it reminds me also of The House of the Rising Sun. Also Chopin arpeggios are very expressive and you used beautiful dynamics!
