If you watch the one with Paul and Nina they did a lot of talking. But I think Claire didn’t talk much because her character wasn’t a huge part of S3 in general but later on in the seasons we learned more about her and her personality

Exactly. She is clearly lying. If Julie actually did ship Matt and Bonnie she would have made them have more scenes together, which they really didn’t throughout the show. Literally that lifeguard scene was the only time it looked like Matt and Bonnie had a connection. I don’t remember anything else as significant after that. I think Julie just brought this up because she is well aware of all the hate she is getting about treating Bonnie on the show.

I refuse to believe she shipped Matt and Bonnie, if she really wanted them to happen, she would have done it. It’s literally her show after all and she had 5 more seasons to do it. And it’s really heartbreaking that Bonnie started to get a comparatively better storyline only after Nina Dobrev left.

I remember she said it too in 2017 when the show was ending. She was still wondering whether she pair her with Matt at the end or not. And about Bonnie having a storyline after Nina left, it's not just Bonnie, actually she has always been important, Caroline is the character that got finally useful in s7. I know everyone loves her because he is funny but Caroline lierally doesn't do a thing during the show 👀. It's always Stefan Bonnie Damon Elena who does everything. actually you can even notice that in he final seasons. Caroline always appears out of nowhere just at the end.

Learning about Julie shipping Bonnie and Matt is interesting. I kinda got to that point in season 5 ep 2 when Matt went to The Other Side and comforted Bonnie about losing her dad. I wouldn't have been too mad about their ending if that's what it was. I just would've needed Matt to be a bit more likable by the end of the series first. He got really annoying in the later seasons. Haha

When she said she was insecure I felt that I dont think Julie is a bad person I think she listened to the fans too much and they lost track of their main focus. You are the storytellers you control the flow. Fans can give you feedback but they're not in charge. If she was more firm she couldve held a tighter storyline. End game--> Stelena End game--> Bamon. @@Hi-cq2hm it wasn't only because of delena. episodes 5-8 of season 3 are top tier writing wise. general viewers don't watch the show because of a ship (i watched for a story not for a ship and i've completely given up on the show when in became just about shipping and delena). you can't say the ratings went up only because of a ship because in season 4 ratings started to go down and that's when delena happened. season 5 was very delena centric and the show lost many viewers because that season wasn't good. 3x19 has a delena motel kiss and is the lowest rated episode of season 3 (not that it's not an iconic scene because it is). you should respond to what works with fans but not let them dictate the direction of the show fully.

I think maybe it was also weird because they took her in an interesting direction with Alaric after Klaus left (to make the spin off lol) and a lot of us were still hanging on to the possibility of Klaroline. It kinda felt like they just wanted stefan with someone and Caroline made the most sense out of the other characters

By then, they HAD humanized him a bit more, though. But, yes, I agree that it seemed like they needed Stefan with SOMEone, ANYone, before the series bowed out so they just drew Caroline's name out of a hat or something. But, good, Glad I'm not the only one that felt that way!

@@birdy4714 exactly. to me the beauty of S3 was that they honoured all the complicated emotions that come with a feeling like this (the triangle). the S4 jump irritated me because it diminished elena's choice somehow + stefan's larger sacrifices (among other reasons) (and set her up to be hated by many fans for being ungrateful, betrayal and what not). would've loved to see a more spaced out, confident choice by end of S4.

My first introduction to Claire Holt was the Vampire diaries, and Rebecka became a fast favorite🤗 Just the right amount of Sass, BADASS, and vulnerability. I absolutely loved her❤ the scene I always wondered about, it when Rebecka was getting ready for prom, and it was the first time she ever got to experience that part of a human existence. Elena, Damon, and Stephan had a plan they were setting in motion ( I can't remember what it was for) but Rebecka would have got in the way. Her and Elena were talking, and really bonding. Rebecka is looking at herself in the mirror, and almost seeming like she's scared, excited , wondering if she can really do this, if she'll actually has the courage to go through this, is she's ready for prom, and then Elena says she's missing one thing, and puts Rebecka's mother's necklace around her neck. Rebecka in that moment, looks like she's so greatful to Elena to get that piece of her mother back, she almost starts to cry. Now we get to the part I wonder. What kind of a relationship would Rebecka and Elena have had, if this hadn't been just a way to soften Rebecka up to get a chance to steak her. What if Elena would have actually just given her this gift as an act of friendship? If there's one thing about Rebecka, she really did value true friends, and I think Rebecka on team Elena would have been a game changer 😁 Love to Claire Holt and Nina Dobrev❤
