Tried and tested both recipes, too! Both are good, but the malted forever brownies are easier to make because of the fact that you don’t need a mixer for it! This brownie is definitely a crowd pleaser! Every single person I made it for really loved it!

I never tried these brownies, but watching you make them, it looks like Claire’s was easier/faster to make for a really delicious brownie, so I’ll make hers instead
@CheyenneBrowncmyb3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they were both fairly easy but Claire’s recipe was definitely a bit less involved

Thank you for this. I’ve been considering doing a vs. of my own between these two. I’ve made the tasty recipe at least a dozen times but never tried Claire’s, thanks for sharing your thoughts

Yeah of course! You should definitely give it a go, it’s really fun to compare the two recipes and see which one comes out on top (although it can be hard to pick sometimes!)

Really enjoyed the video! What did you think about the malted milk powder in Claire's brownies? It's difficult to come by here in The Netherlands (both not super easy to find and expensive), so I'm wondering how much it changes the flavour. The alternative would be chopped up Maltesers, but those have a crunchy middle and I'm not sure that would work texture wise.
@CheyenneBrowncmyb3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Honestly I really love all things malted (I’m looking at you whoppers) but the malted flavor wasn’t super strong to me, so I think that the brownies would still be amazing even without it! Chopping up some maltesers and adding them in could be a fun alternative but since the malted milk powder is optional anyway I don’t think it’s a big deal to leave it out (:

Does the Malted Milk powder make a difference in Claire’s recipe? Can you actually taste it?
@CheyenneBrowncmyb2 жыл бұрын
Honestly the malted flavor wasn’t super strong to me, but I think there was a subtle hint of it. You could definitely consider adding a bit more if you’re looking for more of a “whopper” type brownie

Recommend heating Claire's one up a bit in the oven before trying it (after the fridge step for it to mellow and develop flavours). Really tasty this way

@@CheyenneBrowncmyb awesome :) I got the idea from Alvin's 100 hour brownie recipe video. His final step before eating it was heating a square in the oven so it got all melty again. I've noticed some people who tried this recipe and found it too dense / hard tended to miss that step and think this might be the reason. They are full on though! Have you tried them? Just saw you are doing vet science too - very cool! You are so articulate and bright. Can imagine you would make a great vet. I almost went that path, but ended up doing molecular bio and genetics as it wasn't available where I lived. And now I'm in public policy! Very topsy turvy path but can't always predict where you will end up huh haha

@@micah864 ahhh that makes sense! I haven’t tried that recipe yet though, I haven’t really had the time or patience 😅 but I’m sure I’ll try it sometime in the future. And thank you for saying so! I’m definitely excited about becoming a vet, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me!

@@CheyenneBrowncmyb Know what you mean! Tbh I'm not so sure the full 100 hours is worth it. I reckon the recipes you've already tried are a more solid compromise haha. All the best with studies :)

I haven't ever tried Claire's brownies, but I have done the tasty's and Adam Ragusea's, and I think tasty's is better, but I prefer to make Adam's because it's so much easier to make.

You should try tasty’s best “fudgy” brownie recipe. It had even better ratings than their best brownie version :)

Oooh I’ll definitely have to give that recipe a try then!

I carefully made both Claire’s and Tasty’s Fudgy brownies (not the ones in this video) on the same day. They were very close although I did like the milk chocolate in Claire’s. The Tasty Fudgy brownies are easier and I now make them and add an additional 3 oz of milk chocolate chips in addition to the 4 oz of dark folded in at the end. I cook them half way and remove from the oven for 15 minutes and then finish baking being careful not to overtake. I let them cool completely or overnight. They are truly the best IMO.

@@kathybrocato5148 Ah, the Alton Brown's "hack", try the tasty fudgy (from Alvin, the creator of the 150 hour brownies) with 4 minor tweaks. 1. Brown the 1.5 sticks of butter, when done pour it into a 2cup measuring cup and add water or milk until the mixture reaches the original recipe volume of 1.5Cs 2. Sift the cocoa powder and add it to the browned butter which "blooms" the cocoa powder 3. Use all (white) sugar with dark brown sugar (1.25c) 4. Add 2 Tsp of expresso powder
