Hi Claire, so a little about me starting Adult nursing in September at the grand age of 39 lol (scared beyond words) I have been watching anything and everything nurse related and just love your youtube blogs. watching your journey through your honest telling has firmly reassured me that I am doing the right thing and chasing my dreams. I work in a nursing home as a senior care assistant and wow the term to posh to wash is so true, I think too many nurses forget the basics and just concentrate on medication and paperwork. i hope this a value I will take into my training and never forget the basics.

dannyboi19811 Aw that’s amazing to hear!! Well done! 👏🏻💙 So glAd you’re taking that leap. You will love it! I know it can get manic and sometimes a wash has to be put aside for somethings. But you should never say no to rolling the ‘sleeves’ up and getting stuck in :) It’s so important I think x

Thank you so much for this video! It was very inspiring and motivating. There is so much negativity out there about nursing so it's refreshing to hear from such a positive perspective.

You’re amazing, your so positive. The placements sound amazing and so fun. I can’t wait for my University course to start. 2300 hours sounds a lot doesn’t it really when it’s like that but those 2300 hours you’ll learn so so much! I do nights at the moment at the care home to get used to doing them when working for the ambulance service. 3 days on 4 days off is really good! Keep being you you’re the best x

2OrdinaryGuys Thank you guys!! It isn’t a lot at all! You only do between 8-12 week placements at a time! It’s easy ☺️ people panic too much I think. Even if you really hate your placement it’s only so many weeks and you’re done :-)

Absolutely love this! “To posh to wash” 😂😂 I have worked in care for 15 years and I have come across many nurses that won’t lend a helping hand when things are tough. I have always made a vow to my self to not be that nurse. I have watched your vids all day. It’s making me so excited 😊

Amie Timmins Morning Amie! It’s so true isn’t it 😬 I will never be that nurse either :) I bet you can’t wait to get started now 😍 x

Hey love these videos they help show the reality as a student nurse and now I’m sure I want to go into nursing and hopefully will be accepted next year 🤞🤞 but I wanted to ask if there were any other jobs you know of that I would be able to do while in university to earn money because I’m coming straight out of college ? Thanks x
@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
iqrah jabeen Thank you so much! You can do any job you like? :) You just have to work 0 hour contract and pick up shifts when you can during the course (bank shifts / locate shifts, meaning extra shifts that aren’t contracted) You could get a healthcare assistant (HCA) job. Some placements will take you on after your first placement as HCA :) Some people work in a bar or restaurant. Just depends on what you enjoy doing etc. 🌻

I work 50 hours not sure if I will be able to let go I want to do my nursing course. Really struggling to decide. Been working in GP surgeries for 8 years . Please give me some advise 🙏
@ClaireCarmichael5 жыл бұрын
Sameena Naz You physically can’t work 50 hours on this degree. Only you can make that decision I’m afraid :( you will be able to work still but only part time along side nursing. Or apply for some form of secondment? Will your GP fund you for nursing? :)
