You’re like me, Claire; I hated Maths and I got an E in GCSE too. However, I love GCSE Bitesize; it’s so useful for anything. Another great video; I know that a lot of students will appreciate you for that, Claire. 🦋✨

Claire you are so adorable, but please I would love if you could do these calculations on a white board demonstrating as I have ADHD, so I am unable to solve the maths with only verbal instructions. Thank you so much for your initiative.

Hi, Clare. You said you did the access course in 2012. But you started your degree in 2017. Did university accept that access qualification or you had to redo another access course? Thanks.
@ClaireCarmichael Жыл бұрын
Morning :) The uni accepted my access course from 2012 luckily 💙
@daisynguyen9068 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your response. I’m starting my access to nursing this September. But i might not go straight to university after finishing the course due to financial reason. So i’m happy to hear that university accept qualification achieved for few years.😊
@sutty85 Жыл бұрын
@@daisynguyen9068 you should tey to do the NVQ route. 👍 Less debt , you only do 2 years and you go to uni 2 days a week and work in the health care area

Failed my safe medicate because I didn’t dispense 1 tablet even though the calculation was correct. I’m due to retake and I’m scared I will make a stupid mistake and get excluded
@ClaireCarmichael2 жыл бұрын
Aw sorry to hear that!! Surely if the calculations are correct that’s a pass? I’m not sure what they do with safe medicate now. It sounds frustrating tho :( and realistically at work you’d have your colleagues etc around you to help / calculator etc to use as well. If by any chance you fail next time - appeal it 💙 get another chance etc. don’t give up! X
@mthoko54392 жыл бұрын
@@ClaireCarmichael Sadly, my university did not consider that. They said it has to be a retake because I failed. It’s a bit discouraging because I have worked extremely hard and got high marks in all my modules with only 1 failure in safe medicate. Fingers crossed my retake goes well.

Claire you’re amazing... I heard all about your panic😉 EASYYYYYYY For paramedic science we had to do maths and English exam and believe it or not guys it’s the same. I wouldn’t panic about them to much! I LOVE that method - I’m 100% going to use that x You had to say 69kg didn’t you🤦♂️😂 Yes it makes sense Claire don’t worry😂😂 We had these questions on my interview😂😂
@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
2OrdinaryGuys 2OrdinaryGuys I’m so glad that panic is over. The maths isn’t too bad to be fair! I thought this was easy soooo 🤷🏻♀️ I’m hoping third year it’s just as easy haha! Hey. What’s wrong with 69kg?! 🤣🤦🏻♀️ You had those type of questions for your interview?! Really? I can’t even remember my paramedic interview ones. That’s so bad of me. Our interview maths were just basic maths for the nursing. Was great! Haha.

@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
iqrah jabeen I cant 100% remember the exact questions for our entry requirement haha! It was so long ago. But all I revised was the GCSE bitesize practice ones online :) and I passed. It depends on the uni as well, different unis have different tests 😭 But for our uni, it was level 2 maths and English. It was really basic stuff nothing complicated :) xx

@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
Mutsa Irish Yeah we get some level of assessment. Depends where you work I think. In our competency books we have to get it signed off that we know how to calculate drugs :-) but it’s easy! Don’t worry about it. Mentors are usually great at helping you. X
@mutsamutsa32446 жыл бұрын

@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
Mutsa Irish but it’s not as detailed as the drug calculations exam haha. It’s basic knowledge stuff. Like ‘ok you need 500g of paracetamol, your tablets are 250g, how many tablets do you give?’ 2... 🤷🏻♀️ simple stuff. Well that’s what I’ve had so far haha. X
@mutsamutsa32446 жыл бұрын
Claire Carmichael, that's reasonable I will be able to cope, just started yesterday so far so good at the moment it's student welcoming etc, I haven't got the chance to ask any questions yet properly, I was going through your videos yesterday for help and just to equip myself with extra knowledge
@ClaireCarmichael6 жыл бұрын
Mutsa Irish you’ll be fine! Honestly. First year is all about adjusting to life and finding your feet :-) nothing expected of you as such! Some nurses don’t realise you’re first year so just remind them this and don’t be afraid to say no if you aren’t confident doing something. It’s better to be safe than sorry ☺️ x
