Oh Claire, what a brilliant video 😂 It may not have worked, but at least now you know! Yes, it is 2-10g per kg, so a tiny bit goes a very long way! Thank for making these mistakes so others don't have to! 😁❤

Great video, great product. So glad we have the option to slow down the hardening time so we can get more space and opportunity to be creative with colours. Especial with larger deeper set molds like pyramids etc. Exciting. I am very new to Jesmonite, and was contemplating working with a little cement, as well as resin. Now I am really keen to find out about this eco friendly, bio-degradable, easy to use, natural looking casting material through direct experience and person play. It is bringing out the inner child in me, and the creative adult I didn’t really know within me? So good to discover Polysil in the UK. And Claire, your energy is so vibrant and infectious too. Thank you for the lovely education. 🔮✨💫

Hi Claire, this was an informative video. Unfortunately, I have not really found a good source of Jesmonite in the US so forgoing using it for now. I shall continue to look. Thanks for sharing❤️❤️❤️❤️🌸🌸😀😀

heyyyy lovely ... I am so sorry it just isnt available at all in the USA ... Depending on how far you are from Canad there is a stockist in Britich Columbia who will ship to the US x

@@ClairesCraftyCorner yes I know but they are out of stock. My sister lives very close to the Canadian shop but they are out of Jesmonite. Maybe I need to become a distributor for them in the US!!!!!Just kidding.

Hi. I've just started using jesmonite (I do epoxy resin too). I found mine setting too still in the bowl if I make too much. I've ordered the retarder today, so hopefully, it will help. Did you find there were less bubbles too using the retarder with it been thinner?

Hello! Thanks for the video! Is the dose to add or if you want it to harden sooner can you put less as you like? Maybe you say it but not understanding the spoken English well it may have escaped me. Sorry for the errors in the comment if there are ... I translated with Google 😃
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcella. You only use Retarder if you want your Jesmonite to stay runny for longer. I rarely use it. Retarder is good if you are making LOTS of items at once.

How to avoid getting holes you get after sanding
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
you only need to sand if doing Terrazzo .. but sadly holes are often inevitable with Terrazzo

Claire getting fed up with my resin going yellow , plus just got charged an extra £40 customs fee 😳 what resin do you recommend .
@ClairesCraftyCorner3 жыл бұрын
Heyyyyy girl ... oh no 😢 ong 40 customs? 😱😱😱 what resin you been using? I think most resins will yellow after 5 years or so ... lots of colour is key. I use Vista Resin and Glass Cast x love both 😍😍😍
@kevinmclennan3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! They told me at my craft shop that resin has to be "UV Treated" in order for it not to go yellow, the only issue is that it's normally more expensive :)

Do you have any tips on removing air bubbles at the bottom? (So that would be top after pouting) I noticed you said ‘blow’ do you mean with a hair dryer? Would spraying some rubbing alcohol also help?
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
Heyyyy Anna ... vibration is the best way. Alcohol no ... The trick is to tap and shake the life out of the mould when you pour. People have suggested a vibration plate i have not yet invested in one but hopefully soon x
@WalkingSideways2 жыл бұрын
I use a cheap electric hand sander, the one with the pointy nose. Remove the sandpaper and just use it either around the mold, or the table/surface it's sitting on. Works quite well! ;)

Omg, looovvee your Videos.. I am watching all your jesmonite videos, before I am gonna try it myself for the first time..😱 So many questions.. do I really need a Retarder at all and if so, does it need to dry longer than 30 min?
@VK-lg7ey2 жыл бұрын
Ohh..one more: Jesmonite Retarder is really hard to get (I am from Austria), would you know if I could use regular Retarder (eg. for acrylic paint..?)
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
heyyyyy lovely .. I actualy never use the retarder. I say never .. but I mean rarely ! I only use it if I am doing a big job .. say 5 pots with the same colour .. it helps x 99% of the time it isnt needed x

@ClairesCraftyCorner3 жыл бұрын
Yeh I am not sure of any if I'm honest x
@mizunderstood373 жыл бұрын
every commercially available epoxy is actually food-safe and therefore harmless in case of short-term contact. Only when resin is fully cured is it non-toxic or food safe. In the liquid state, epoxy resin and also the vapors produced are ALWAYS toxic! so, unless you have a prof set up and can guarantee a FULL cure which can take months resin dependent its really not worth the risk. if you still go ahead with it and are also a seller make sure you have good insurance
