Wonderful video, I was in Queenstown and Milford Sound back in 2010. I went hang gliding instead of paragliding in Queenstown and I think the paragliding is a lot more peaceful than hang gliding (plus it was tough finding a time when the wind was just right). I went kayaking in Milford Sound, but there were no sand flies probably because it was winter. Such a beautiful place and I want to go back. Very excited for this series of videos.

Thanks for watching! I was curious about hang gliding. I figured it would be more peaceful than paragliding but I guess both will put you through some g forces. We had a great time but after how sick it made me, I'm not sure I'd do it again unless it was a short flight. I'm so glad I didn't throw up on the pilot.

@@ClaireTrips Actually there is less of the "twirling," so maybe you should give the hang gliding a try! I've done paragliding in Switzerland and there was a lot more motion with the pilot spinning you around (which I loved!). The hang gliding was just more stressful on the take off because you have to run with the pilot and then when you are in the air, move your legs back. They do dips and stuff, but less spins. Thanks for the response, I'm a huge fan of your videos! I'm also wondering - how did you get the sound from your kayak guide and also from the sea plane headset? Were they mic-ed? (I'm trying to learn some film making techniques myself for some of my amateur vacation videos)
@ClaireTrips Жыл бұрын
@@QPlourde My secret for headset audio is to take a tiny lavalier mic and I just shove it next to my ear into the ear of the headset and I use a little audio recorder to capture the sound from the flight. That way I don't have to bug the pilot. The kayak guide audio was just basic audio from the camera. It's not the best quality audio but I really liked his storytelling.

@@ClaireTrips Oh cool! The audio sounded really good, which is why I asked. I love the professional quality of your videos.

You should have a show on travel channel. What you can make on your own absolutely equals what teams on those programs put out.

Another incredible video!! I'm so excited for the next few weeks! Eight videos!! Your trips always look so magical and incredible! It's my dream to go to New Zealand, so thank you for sharing your journey! The struggle of driving on the opposite side is real, haha. It took me a solid week to adapt.

I have loved your videos of Te Waipounamu (the South Island). It is my home and, surprisingly, it is possible to forget how blessed we are who live here and how beautiful our home is. Thank you so much for reminding me and bringing me to tears again as I watched your wonderfully presented impressions of my home ❤

I love the dedication. "I couldn't get a spot on the milford sound walk so I skipped the entire south Island" haha. I never made it to Queenstown on my travels there but I have family who live in in Arrowton just down the road. Now I get to see what I missed out on :D

@@ClaireTrips I was there in the south for 3 months and I didn't see half of what I wanted to. NZ has endless beauty and no shortage of mad things that they encorage you to jump off or out of as you've no doubt witnessed. Wish I'd spent a bit longer in the North though.
