Thank Heavens patience pays off. The B-52's & Talking Heads were some of my fave groups, now this band picks up where they left off - really great stuff. Hit just hard enough but has that smooth, finesse-style soul-blues vibe & groove. I discovered them via the Heineken commercial. Great music, great voice. (And as a male member of the species, the way Clairy "shakes that thing" also caught my, ahem, attention.) The comparison to Alicia Bridges is apt - especially on “Love Letter”. I also hear Dinah Washington, and even Janis Joplin. Bottom line: Anyone who can REALLY sing, does so without benefit of electronic manipulation. Clairy Browne can sing. Plus she's attractive and "sassy". Women like this make men CRAZY with desire.
