Clam digging in Washington State is truly amazing! This is the first place where we have caught some of the tastiest and largest clams!
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to hit the like button, share and SUBSCRIBE!
Fishing gear we use:
Only baitcaster we’ve used to catch Silver Salmon amzn.to/2WC1g3U
Awesome spinning reel for saltwater fishing, works for both lure and snagging hook fishing amzn.to/3DA3st3
A little cheaper substitute for the spinning reel above amzn.to/3DA3st3
Main lure we use to catch wild Pacific Salmon in Alaska! amzn.to/3e5JGKT
Cost-effective waders that will get the job done! amzn.to/3EPX4OC
Other stuff we use:
Vacuum sealer we use to process our fish and keep them fresh! - amzn.to/36v1eMi
You’ll need some vacuum sealer rolls too! - amzn.to/36shFZU

If you soak your clams in ice water over night and the clam will purge the sand in them. You can soak for two days in fresh ice water to purge more sand. No crunchy sand. 🥳👍

That's what we noticed when we washed them with just water. Will soak them next time! Thank you!

@@KayeandRemo I live in Washington. I live near the water and Sandy beaches I see people claiming all in season in the NW Puget sound. I have a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.

Wooo they can go grow really big too. Rainy day uh-oh the tide is coming in? Those are good a little tough but it has the best taste ever. They’re deep too. We get them here once in a while just too much work digging them hehe. Those cockles are really good super tasty. Have fun guys.

Awesome video! I was in Washington State for a little while but unfortunately didn't get the chance to forage for some clams & mussels. I plan to come back & do it for sure. Absolutely love it up there.

Clams are so tasty! And versatile. I find them _far_ better, more sweeter yet 'balanced' tasting than the other popular molluscs - Scallops, mussels, oysters & squids. Wonderful cooking! 💫

It looks so fun. We’re planning to visit our son who recently moved to Seattle. Where would you suggest to go for beginners. We know geoducks are too much for us to try digging. But cockles might be our speed.

Sorry for the late late response. We highly recommend going to WDFW's website for clamming locations and tips. If you're going to Seattle, there are certainly spots around the area and you don't have to go far!

you guys are hardcore, clamming in the middle of the rain with an incoming tide, when is it season and can you take any clams?
@KayeandRemo

Thank you! Season is all year but varies greatly between beaches out here in Washington. You can definitely keep what you harvest.
