I remember back in the day when you upgraded your initial clamp storage system because it was too bad, and now you're upgrading it once again to make new improvements. I love watching you as your woodworking tools and style change over time, it's very authentic. Also, a great message to send, that you should never just settle. Great job, Steve!

Loved this video. I especially appreciate the beginning section where you went through what works and doesn't work about each part of your previous storage system. That's my favourite bit of problem solving, so it was great that you shared the process!

love the videos and like your clamp storage solution, however, one of the great things about clamps is that they, well, can easily clamp to things so my clamp storage solution is a straight piece of wood all of my clamps clamp to.

My main work bench for some of my stationary tools (drill press, etc.) has a piece of 1" tall 1/8" thick MDF screwed on to the back. It was a scrap from something else (bottom of my table saw sled I think?). I just clamp all my spring clamps to that, and hook my C-clamps over the edge. Always within reach where I'm most likely to need them :)

Steve, I was wondering, while cutting the slots for the bar clamp rack, was there some reason you couldn't have just stood the piece upright? I was thinking that would have probably solved the issue of the curvature of the saw blade?

Steve about the bandsaw cuts, there are nowadays blades with a variable TPI, the cut they give is really good and accurate. Might be worth a try. I resawed with a 3/4 tpi or "varitooth" 5/8" blade and basically only had to do some minor smoothing to get a finished surface. It changed how I worked with the bandsaw producing such better quality cuts.

Hey Steve, Thank you for all the great videos that really help us the real mere mortals woodworkers ( aka beginners). Could you make a video about when to use nails vs. screws. I'm afraid to use nails because of splitting the wood but sometimes I see even you use nails in some works, so when to use one or another???? Thanks in advance

My workshop is in my basement, so I tend to hang bar clamps from the ceiling trusses, which is rather suboptimal, because when you bump them they tend to fall down. Maybe I could make a rack like yours that would attach to the ceiling but would hold them more securely. My shop is pretty disorganised because I'm pretty disorganised, so every little thing helps.

I suggest storing clamps in a cave on top of a sacred mountain. Have the entrance of the cave guarded by a spirit who will only let the purest and bravest of heart enter. Leave the clamps in a container which can only be opened if a noble and great piece of woodworking is brought before the container and burnt as a worthy sacrifice. It may not be the most "convenient" way to retrieve clamps, but they will be well guarded and you will never have a dull moment in wood working again. You are guaranteed that every time you use the clamps for wood working the experience will be an epic adventure!
