I love your channel. I consider myself more of a craftsman than a designer. I am in the final stages of building out my workshop. I’m creating French cleat holders for various tools. When I saw your video I initially thought oh boy more clamp rack ideas and almost passed on it. I’m glad I didn’t. Your designs seem more secure than others I had looked. I’m glad I gave it a look. Wish me luck.

Best of luck Patrick! Thank you so much for you kind words. I think one of my favorite things about this wall is the cleate on the top of the frame. I use that more often than I thought I would with longer tools like clamps. Thanks again for watching. Really appreciate it!

Just found your channel yesterday. Enjoy your goofy content and I mean that in the best way. Here’s a tip I wanted to share with you. When you just need to mark your 1” x 1” corners for holes, countersinks and such try this… Set the gauge on your pocket rule to 1”, and since the blade is 1” just hug the corner of your piece and mark the corner of your ruler with either a dot or L… seems silly but actually can be a time saver. If it just needs to be close like the back of the cleats you can even use a spring punch or set your drill bit at the corner, pull rule away and start your hole.

I had more clamps than places, so I added a bar with slots for clamps and supported it under the assembly table and fastened it to the legs. I can get up to 24" long clamps in there. I have rearranged clamps multiple times and appreciate the ideas. My pipe clamps don't have those feet, so I look spring-loaded broom holders attached to the wall.

Hi great video. With the 1st clamp rack you would have room for expansion of clamps. As the 1st clamp rack has so much surface on the outside of the rack. Clamp rack 4 could use that space in the future. Thank you for demonstrating these great racks for us

Thanks so much Projectrebuild! Really appeciate you watching and your analysis of the video. I think clamp rack 1 and 2 are obviously my favorite. Really for me the biggest difference between the two is the ability to be able to grab any clamp you want with rack 2, vs. having clamps buried behind others with clamp rack 1. Thanks so much again for watching!

Enjoyed the clamp rack build. I built a clamp rack base on rollers to hold most of my clamps, it’s 2 sided, 24” wide X 48” long, and about 68” high, with a shelf at about 30 inches off the ground to hold miscellaneous clamping parts. Additionally, I’ve got lots of c clamps and clamping vice grips too. Initially I had a dozen 60” Bessey clamps which were super heavy and cumbersome, plus took up a ton of space. I needed all those long clamps for my Roubo workbench build, and don’t use them that often in normal building stuff. All this to say, I revised the clamp rack for the long Bessey clamps to be horizontal at the very top of my tool wall. They all fit on two arms that are around 18” out from the tool board and are about 48” apart. I stagger them so they fit closer together on the rack. I also put a bolt vertically through the arm, to ensure a small bump wouldn’t let them come off the end of the wood holding them up. Basically they take up horizontal space at the top of the wall and free up very important space on the wall. Great work!

If the two clamp supports are cut on the diagonal (instead of rectangular), down from the front to wall, you require less plywood for each cleat without loosing strength. These can be cut from a rectangle cut on the diagonal.

Why not use similar rack for f-style that you did for parallel?
@FlynndoggWoodwork
@FlynndoggWoodwork 5 ай бұрын
Great question. The only reason I didn't do that for the F Style was because I wanted to try out different styles of racks. There is also the issue of having different sizes, with the parrellel clamp rack you have to stack them so if you need a longer or shorter clamp, you may need to pull out all the clamps in front of the one you need. Great question James!
